Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 1 for University of Denver, located in Denver, CO.

 

Sodexos partnership started with the University of Denver in 1994. DU offers an exciting and vibrant environment where Sodexos best managers learn and grow with our organization. We have an opening for an experienced Executive Chef for a very busy campus Resident Dining program at Nelson Hall, serving over 1800 meals a day. This is a PM /Evening shift 1PM - 11:30 PM.

 

 

This individual will lead a dedicated work force in providing high quality and diverse services on a very busy campus.   Responsibilities will include: Food production, inventory, training and development of team, performance monitoring, safety / sanitation, trouble shooting, cost controls, labor management, and active participation in improving our delivery through customer service.

 

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • manage the daily food production including production planning and controls;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality;
  • manage food costing, controls and compliance;
  • develop menus and manage inventory;
  • have high expectations for customer service and quality of food;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and train frontline employees;
  • have a passion for food and innovation;
  • have knowledge of special diets and allergens; and
  • knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) is preferred. 

 

The ideal candidate has:

  • a strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends;
  • proven track record of quality control, cost controls on ordering and inventory,
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies;
  • previous experience working in a high-volume facility; and
  • strong leadership skills trainer and mentor, developing staffs skills and ensuring safety.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through executionKey Duties-Executes the culinary function-Customer & Client satisfaction-Manages food & physical safety program.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree Basic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
