Sodexo is seeking an Operations Manager-Hard Services located in Martinsburg, WV.

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations this job will be responsible for managing a team of 100+FTEs and (430) acres and 5-6 million sq. ft. Areas of focus will include:


Job Description

  • Lead and supervise on-site team, develop and implement associated work plans, to fully meet the contractual requirements, and deliver the facility operation and maintenance services in a safe, efficient way; Supervise work quality and service level of hard-services, to ensure all services are delivered effectively.
  • Plan the small renovation projects, and lead and supervise the project execution after approval from onsite director.
  • Manage all outsourcing activities, ensure vendors deliver the services according to schedule, quality and quantity related requirements. And assist function department to assess vendors' performance regularly.
  • Complying with industry and regulatory standards and processes, develop Local Operation Procedures and plans related to facility management, and implement them.
  • Manage energy consumption and waste emission according to client and regulatory standards, and achieve annual energy saving target.
  • Attend internal and external working communication meeting, and report associated events, and ensure information is shared properly.
  • Liaison with external bureaus and other auditors and stakeholders, to ensure all engineering services are delivered following the laws, regulations and associated requirement.
  • Observe and supervise team to implement associated HSE standards and processes of OSHA and Federal Regulations and achieve HSE related KPI.
  • Involve site risk manage activities. Investigate associated failure and non-compliances.
  • Lead and supervise team, and improve \"cohesive \" affinity, retain the employees
  • Develop employee training plan as per the willing and job requirement and coordinate associated resources to implement it.
  • Set the objective and performance indicator of team members as per the company processes, and regular review and assess member's performance.
  • Carry out the associated task designated by IFM Director.
  • The Successful Applicant

  • College degree, preferred in electrical majors
  • Be familiar with operation and maintenance of electrical, general maintenance, plumibing, fire protection system, CCTV and access control facilities.
  • Good capability to use Microsoft office and CAD software
  • Excellent English reading and writing skill, Good English speaking (can communicate with foreigners)
  • Successful experience in leading facility maintenance or MEP project team with approx. 20 personnel.
  • Skills and capability to prepare technical solutions and develop associated work plan e.g. maintenance plan, improvement plan etc.
  • Good communication skills and ability to coordinate and resolve internal/external dispute.
  • Strong sense of responsibilities and service spirit
  • Can work under certain pressure

    Position Summary

    Responsible for a single scope of work in hard services area. 3rd in command Supervises the account as the #2 manager and has full responsibility including supervision of other managers. Responsible for entire account when the Director of Facilities Ops is not present. In Univ. same as above as well as size and scope is less than an Ops 2;

    Key Duties- Manage one other manager; typically in account with smaller volume and FTE count; Manage by walking around; Staffs, trains, and is responsible for employee development

    - Technical client interface

    - Payroll and time mgmt. of frontline staff

    - Oversees and coordinates projects

    - Manages work orders/CMMS

    - Manages mechanicals (i.e. HVAC)

    - Manages financials

    - Responsible for client relations/engagement

    - Manages QA and Safety


    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelors Degree 

    Basic Management Experience - 3 years
