Medical Gas Field Service Technician/Verifier
Location: Ronkonkoma, NY
Work Locations: Long Island/NYC/Northeastern NJ and Areas North of NYC

Description
SUMMARY
Conducts variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on Medical Gas systems and sub-assemblies to ensure system functions according to specifications. Candidate must have full competency on Medical Vacuum pumps, air compressors, manifolds, alarms and controls including installation and repair. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.
* Performs preventative maintenance, service and installs Medical Gas Systems
* Reads test schedule, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.
* Tests functional performance of systems, sub-assemblies and parts.
* Reads dials or digital displays that indicate system status.
* Compares results with specifications and records test data. 
* Replaces defective system components.
* Specifies materials and sight conditions on a given project. 
* Services calls to customer locations for repairs as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
* This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

* Basic PC knowledge with proficiency in both Word and Excel applications
* Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer’s needs and management’s expectations.
* Extended overnight travel from current living area to job site may be required

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years related experience in medical gas piping or plumbing or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Knowledge of medical gas industry terminology Desirable.
* 6040 Medical Gas Maintainer Credential is Desirable
* 6030 Medical Gas Verifier Credential is Desirable.
Experience working in a medical facility is Desirable
LANGUAGE SKILLS
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
* Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
* Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Utilize tech support and other sources to complete repairs.

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. 
* The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. 
* The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. 
 
Salary commensurate with experience and credentials but may hire an exceptional candidate to be trained and assisted with credentialing.
 
If you have a mechanical background working as a mechanic, experience with compressors or generators, etc, we will consider you to train for this position. If you have worked in hospitals or healthcare we can fast track training and credentialing.
 
Salary range $25 - $35/hr plus benefits. Training salary $20-24/hr.
