Job Description

Job Summary:

Act as a controller for designated government contracts and programs working closely with business development, bids & proposals, contracts, and project managers to ensure appropriate financial structure of contracts, execution, and timely closing of the contract when work is complete. Execution will include regular analysis and reporting to Finance & Accounting, project managers, and others on the financial status of government contracts. This will include financial health and forecasting with corrective action recommendations to ensure contracts remain profitable for Teledyne FLIR.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drives financial health of program execution. Collaborating with project managers and acting in a program controller, treating each contract or program to the individual P&L level. Making recommendations to course-correct when forecasts are off course
  • Provide timely and accurate finance and performance data for assigned programs
  • Post award Develop and implement program plans and baselines
  • Monitor and report program weekly/monthly financial and earned value performance
  • Recommend and implement program corrective actions with the Program Management team
  • Present Program financial data for the business area customers
  • Lead in the preparation of Estimates to Complete (EACs)and forecasting changes
  • Complete monthly progress and CPFF billings, ensure all billed costs are in accordance with FAR regulations.
  • Support government audits for submitted progress billings.
  • Assists with development of financial spreadsheets for bid & proposal activities, follow on cost analysis activities, tight monitoring when reaching fund limitations, review program billings for accuracy prior to submission
  • Involved in early stage of business capture decisions; working with business development/bids & proposals to add value to business capture process
  • Assist in preparation of work force forecasts for assigned programs.
  • Support Business Planning Process with respect to forecasting new business.
  • Leading the preparation of proposals financial elements for new business, support fact-finding, audits and negotiations.
  • Works with Contracts and others in Government Finance & Accounting to timely close contracts upon completion
  • Other analysis on government contracts and government finance as assigned
  • Cross over ability to assist other financial ad hoc reporting as needed

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 8 years experience and five directly associated with Government program finance
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, CAS
  • Experience with review of contracts, contract briefs and Incurred Cost Submissions
  • MS Office Suite with intermediate MS Excel skills (strong experience with various formulas, v-lookup, pivot tables, chart development, and macros a plus)
  • Experience with EVM reporting
  • Experience with WAWF and billing requirements and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with SAP Reports essential, additional project module experience a plus
  • Strong experience with government agencies & PM's
  • Strong convictions to be able to stay compliant while maximizing contract profitability
