We are seeking a proactive, self-driven Financial Analyst within our North American Consumer Products division to jointhe team at our Savannah River Mill, located in Rincon GA. The Financial Analyst willcreate long-term value for the company by 1) collaborating with Operations Leadership to improve the effectiveness of our operations and 2) insuring the protection of the companys assets through strong and cost effective internal controls.

The Savannah River Mill has been in operation since 1986 manufacturing commercial and retail tissue, towel, and napkin products. It has five of the worlds 12 largest paper machines and is one of the largest tissue recycling operations in the world. The mill is located in a beautiful part of the country in Effingham County that is located near I-95 and in close proximity to Savannah, GA and the beaches of Hilton Head, SC and Tybee Island, GA. The area offers one of the best school systems in the state along with year-round recreation including fishing, hunting, boating, site-seeing, hiking, bike trails and golf.




This position is a springboard for developing your finance and management skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment. While in this position, you will obtain excellent knowledge of the key drivers of success in our business and will be provided the opportunity to learn from all levels of management in one of the largest private companies in America.




A Day In The Life Typically Includes:



Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial and economic decision making support through preparing and interpreting financial results, cost and variance analysis, operational gap analysis, capital planning and decision making support, and other ad-hoc analysis while creating real, long-term value for the organization

  • Develop strong relationships with the operations team to better understand and anticipate their business needs

  • Obtain a solid working knowledge of the primary drivers of operations and their impact on financial performance

  • Perform financial closing procedures, variance analysis, and balance sheet account analysis

  • Prepare and analyze product cost in comparison to industry and internal benchmarks

  • Support and review internal controls


What You Will Need:




Education Required:


  • Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting or Finance

  • GPA of 3.0 or above


Basic Qualifications:


  • General understanding of a General Ledger and Cost Accounting principles

  • Conceptual understanding of the design and purpose ofinternal controls

  • Aptitude and desirefor learning new systems and improving processes throughand developing data visualizations

  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation etc., Access-query, and PowerPoint presentation creation/editing)

  • Strong work ethic, personal integrity, and sense of accountability and responsibility

  • Highly motivated, proactive, willingness to engage and partner

  • Financial acumen to be utilized toward financial statement analysis

  • Able to prioritize his/her own workload to ensure optimal outcome

  • Strong customer focus with analytical, financial and economic thinking skills

  • Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellentcommunication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Basic self-awareness and an understanding of how personal behavior impacts others


What Will Put You Ahead


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Coursework should include Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting

  • Previous Public Accounting, Large Company Corporate Accounting or Manufacturing Environment experience preferred
