The Financial Analyst in our Pricingteamis responsible for the pricing and financial review / underwriting of existing full-service retirement business (DC, DB, NQ). In this role, the Financial Analyst will be accountable for achieving and maintaining Prudentials earnings, retention, and growth targets of all full service retirement business clients for an assigned region. Other primary responsibilities of the role include supporting the review of client pricing strategies, investment concerns, revenue disclosures as well as supporting Pricing, Actuarial and Retirement projects/initiatives.
  • Partnering with Relationship Management teams on the existing business side to achieve optimal client level; economics, retention, and plan growth

  • Developing case-level pricing strategies that balance financial values with sound business judgment

  • Gaining an in-depth knowledge of pricing tools and techniques and identifying opportunities for technological improvement

  • Must be able to develop an understanding of all information contained in a revenue disclosures and 408(b)2 documents

  • Involvement/participation in project teams to provide financial analysis and expertise. Provide status/updates on project plans in order to achieve deadlines and results

  • Providing financial tools and resources to Relationship Management/ Client Services to guide decisions, including prioritization of business profitability initiatives

  • Driving business profitability initiatives to optimize financial and retention impacts

  • Developing a strong knowledge of current competitive and customer views; actively participates in client/consultant presentations when appropriate

  • Collaborating with the RFP team to provide all necessary relevant pricing documents and economic data in all existing business RFP situations in order to successfully retain retirement service business

  • May support new business and existing key account business as needed

  • BS in Business / Accounting, or Finance or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years Experience in Retirement Services, Financial Services or related Industry

  • Experience with full-service retirement products (DC/DB/NQ) considered a plus

  • Required skills include: strong analytical, verbal and written communication, partnering, influencing/negotiating, and time management skills

  • Needs a strong knowledge of current competitive and customer views in order to actively participate in existing business client presentations, when appropriate

  • Flexibility and ability to act quickly and accurately to respond to changing customer needs and legislated responsibilities of retirement service companies

  • Ability to understand Excel and Access-based pricing models, including ad hoc modeling

  • Intellectual capacity the pricing methodology involves numerous complex concepts including actuarial concepts

  • Must work well in both an individual and team environment

  • Overtime may be required during high volume periods
