Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst contributes to Arrow Fasteners success by providing decision support to drive business growth and improve profitability, and by assisting with various accounting and control functions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly sales analyses by countries/customers and by product-categories/SKUs, comparing actual performance vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods; and provide explanations for significant variances.

  • Prepare monthly P&Ls for the 3 regions of U.S., Canada, and International, ensuring appropriate burden of both region-specific expenses and shared expenses.

  • Assist with complexity analyses initiatives by providing gross standard margin and/or contribution margin info by SKU and by customer, in order to identify rationalization opportunities or other corrective actions.

  • Provide monthly tracking and variance analyses of all Selling expenses, including commissions, advertising/marketing, research, compensation-related, trade shows, and other.

  • Assist with preparation of the monthly SOP (Sales and Operating Profit) Bridges.

  • Assist with the AOP (annual operating plan) and LRP (long-range plan).

  • Coordinate the monthly commission payment process and forecasts for our sales rep agencies.

  • Prepare monthly updates of customer advertising and rebate reserves.

  • Assist with other monthly closing tasks, including various journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations related to our Canadian business as well as advertising/rebate and commission JEs and B/S recs related to all of our businesses (U.S., Canada, and International).

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • 2-4 years of accounting and finance experience. Some exposure to a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Knowledge of income statement preparation, balance sheet analysis, and annual budget process.

  • Working knowledge of GAAP and internal control procedures.

  • Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems.

  • Detail-oriented and thorough, with ability to see the big-picture and understand key trends and business drivers.

  • Team player, who is also a self-starter with the ability to work independently and show initiative.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
