Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist, Chief Investment Office

As a member of the CIO Planning, Analysis and Reporting team (CIO PAR), the individual will work closely with the Chief Investment Offices Global Portfolio Management Group to meet existing reporting needs, respond to new and emerging information requirements and assist in the development of additional analytical tools. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, interpersonal, and communications skills, creative approach to problem solving, and an understanding of GAAP accounting for investments.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Production of management reporting decks for the Chief Investment Officer and Head of Global Portfolio Management

  • Coordination and preparation of various Industry Conference presentations and other external presentations

  • Provide investment forecast analysis to Portfolio Management teams on the General Account, including risk limit capacity projections, strategic asset allocation/marginal asset allocation, and credit migration

  • Competitor analysis of the investment portfolio

  • Support portfolio managers, Investment Risk, Investment Operations and other Finance areas on ad-hoc assignments

  • Support activities related to regulatory supervision, including development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Specific responsibilities for the position will vary over time based on business needs and other factors.

  • 3-5 years of work experience in financial analysis or reporting

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance with a view toward enhancing analytical skills / credentials

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary with an ability to interact effectively with all levels of management in the U.S. and international operations.

  • Ability to collaborate across the Finance teams and foster relationships across multiple business partners including CIO, Risk Management, and PII

  • Possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint with ability to learn new reporting platforms (e.g. Tableau)

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities under tight timeframes

  • Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory accounting concepts for investments a plus
