We are seeking a Financial Systems Analyst Building Products Systems to join the team at our Corporate HQ in beautiful downtown Atlanta, GA.



Georgia-Pacifics building products business is North America's No. 1 producer of wood panels namely plywood and oriented strand board and is a leading producer of gypsum products and lumber. Georgia-Pacific is also a major supplier to large do-it-yourself warehouse retailers.





The ideal candidate will have the following demonstrated skills: an understanding of economic-thinking principles, internal financial controls, financial and cost accounting, ability to interact with all levels of management, solid team-player, ability to use finance tools such as Excel and Access and have proactive/self-driven work habits in prior roles.






A Day In The Life Typically Includes:





The Analyst is expected to seek out opportunities to create value by streamlining processes, enhancing internal financial controls, leveraging technology and resources to increase quality of financial transactions and reporting.





Responsibilities:

  • OneLISA Gypsum and Wood Products Sales Systems



    • Ensure sales transactions are recorded properly, research and resolve exceptions

    • Test system modifications

    • Assist interface partners with data discrepancies/questions; Analyst Group, AR/AP, Tax, Transportation

    • Coordinate and perform annual security audit

  • Financial Reporting



    • Complete quarterly and yearly sales and tax reporting

    • Deliver accurate and timely services for Tax, Audit, International Trade Compliance, Government Reporting, and ad-hoc requests at the corporate and division level

    • Resolve issues and validate results for ESCDW (Sales & Cost reporting system)

    • Update consignment P&Ls

  • Financial System Support



    • BP Financial Data Mart Maintain mappings and provide support


    • Gypsum Olaris Update chart of accounts


    • Audit BP public drives


  • Blackline Admin Maintain user access, training and provide support




What You Will Need:



Education and Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or Accounting


  • At least TWO years of experience in an Accounting or Analysis role


  • General understanding of GAAP and overall accounting functions (GL, AR, AP, Inventory, etc.)

  • Basicunderstanding ofintercompany transactions, andmonth end closing

  • Conceptual understanding of the design and purpose ofinternal controls

  • Aptitude and desire for learning new systems and improving processes through automation

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation etc., and Access-query)

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Highly motivated, proactive, willingness to engage and partner

  • Strong customer focus with analytical, financial, and economic thinking skills

  • Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail

  • Proven initiative and willingness to drive change, with a focus on innovation, process improvement and solvingproblems

  • Strong personal integrity and basic self-awareness and an understanding of how personal behavior impacts others





What Will Put You Ahead?






Preferred Qualifications:







  • Accounting Courseworkthatincludes Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting

  • SAP, Infinium, Infor or large ERP experience

  • Previous system implementation or system upgrade experience

  • Experience as an Accountant or Analyst in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience providing timely information and service to internal business customers
