IAP is tasked to provide Field Level (AVIM/AVUM) support, and limited sustainment level (Depot) repairs, to the 1106th Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group (TASMG) Fresno, CA and the Army Aviation Support Facility Stockton, CA. Effort is in direct support of the maintenance of military helicopters, UH-60A/L/M, HH-60G, HH-60L/M, OH- 58A/C/D, AH-64A/D, CH-47D/F, UH-72, Flexible Engine Diagnostic System (FEDS), and multiple Ground Support Equipment (GSE) subsystems and aviation equipment associated with the 1106th TASMG

Job Summary:

The Aircraft Mechanic III leads a team in the performance of ARMY aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance; possesses the technical experience to supervise subordinate mechanics; provides technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported; and is capable of performing, supervising and inspecting the duties of Mechanic Is, IIs and IIIs. This includes team lead duties including but not limited to, employee timekeeping / reporting, implementing safety and quality programs as directed by the site management.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
  • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions.
  • Applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
  • Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
  • Makes entries in aircraft logs and records
  • Provides guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.
  • Ensures Quality and Safety programs are promulgated and applied in accordance with site requirements.
  • Travel is required when assigned to teams supporting operations outside of the Fresno location. This can include locations within the western region, Alaska and Hawaii.

Education & Experience:
  • Must have a High School degree or equivalent.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience required.

  • Experience performing or supervising functions such as installing, inspecting, repairing, or overhauling aircraft structures, systems, and components is required.
  • Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike.

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
  • May require specialization in sheet-metal, electric work, avionics or other aircraft systems
  • related disciplines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ARMY aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components is required.
  • Knowledge of ARMY aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems is required.
  • Detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.
  • Must have working knowledge of ULLS-A(E) or GCSS Army.

Security Clearance:

Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearances and access as required by the contract
