About the PUCO:





We are the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio the
PUCO. We support Ohios communities, helping keep the lights on, homes and
businesses warm, and roadways safe. The PUCO is the state agency responsible
for the oversight of utilities such as natural gas and electricity and
enforcement of safety regulations for motor carriers, ferries, and railroad
companies. Led by five commissioners, we regulate an industry with an economic
impact of over $24 billion on Ohios economy.

About the Power Siting Department.





The
Power Siting Department supports sound energy policies that provide for the
installation of energy capacity and transmission infrastructure for the benefit
of the Ohio citizens, promoting the state's economic interests, and protecting
the environment and land use. Before construction can begin on any major
utility facility or economically significant wind farm within the state of
Ohio, a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need must be
obtained from the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB). The Power Siting Department
coordinates the review of these certificate applications among all OPSB member
agencies.





The
PUCO seeks a candidate to serve as GIS Supervisor. Primary duties include:



Develop, manage, and direct all activities of
the GIS Section



Manage production of utility and Power Siting
maps and web applications



Direct and supervise the maintenance of GIS
data



Determine GIS needs of the agency and recommend
a course of action



Coordinate departmental IT-related projects



Manage department internship program and assist
with hiring

Completion of graduate core program in business
administration, public administration, finance, economics, accounting or
engineering (i.e., field of study must correlate with assigned duties); AND 6
months training or 6 months experience in public utilities field.




-OR completion of undergraduate core program in business
administration, public administration, finance, economics, accounting or
engineering; AND 12 months experience in enforcement of public utility service
standards; AND 12 months experience in enforcement of transportation safety or
economics regulations, or auditing public utilities for compliance with
accounting practices & procedures, or public utility research, or rate
structure analysis; AND 6 months training or 6 months experience in supervisory
principles/techniques or management.




-OR 36 months experience in position comparable to Public
Utilities Administrator 2, 23152 in government agency or public utility; AND 6
months training or 6 months experience in supervisory principles/techniques or
management.




-OR 12 months experience as Public Utilities Administrator
1, 23151.




-OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For
Employment noted above.

Preferred
Qualifications:





5+ years experience managing an
enterprise-level GIS



10+ years working with GIS software, including:

*5+ years working with ArcGIS Server

* Experience with ArcGIS Online



Experience with versioned databases in SQL
Server



GISP certification
