Job Description

Accountabilities:

The Manager, Group Functions Assurance reports to the Director, Assurance Analytics and be responsible for assisting in defining and delivering a comprehensive integration of operational risk assurance into the current Group Functions Assurance team. This manager role will be part of the 2nd LOD and actively contribute to and participate in Segment assurance activities.

The manager will work with Global and Group Functions Operational Risk Management staff, Global and Segment IT Governance and Compliance and other control teams to assist with the execution of a successful RCSA program and the integration of information, IT and information risk assurance programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to building a strong, collaborative relationship with businesses and functions and provide ongoing operational and information risk advisory services.
  • Develop communication, support, and reporting activities to monitor against the risk and control self-assessment activities and drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Contribute to overall Operational Risk Management education, communication and reporting efforts as required.
  • Assist in providing second line of defense oversight for Global Functions Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA).
  • Monitor completion of Group Function RCSA activities per schedule/plan.
  • Champion use of the Archer system with internal clients to RCSA information is correctly captured, providing training and support where required.
  • Contribute to building a strong, collaborative relationship with businesses and functions and provide ongoing operational risk advisory services.
  • Help assist in the development of ORM and IRM scenario modeling and analytics
  • Establish assurance reporting to forecast operational and information risk based on failed internal process, inadequate controls and emerging risk.
  • Assess and analyses root causes that leads to operational/information risk losses
  • Experience working with large data sets and real world data

Job Requirements (Experience/Knowledge/Skills):

  • University Degree (Technology, Business, Risk Management, Auditing or related discipline)
  • Minimum 5 years Operational and/or Information Risk experience
  • Strong mathematical and IT background
  • Experience working with FAIR risk methodology
  • Experience developing qualitative and quantitative risk reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Previous experience in risk modeling a plus
  • Strong influence, negotiation and collaboration skills with the ability to work across the enterprise globally
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Results oriented, able to work under tight deadlines and handle competing priorities
  • In-depth subject matter expertise in Operational Risk Management, particularly risk and control self-assessments
  • Previous oversight and effective challenge (2nd line of defense) experience is preferred
  • Track record in process improvement and process design
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to work independently
  • Innovative problem-solving skills with the proven ability to exercise flexibility and judgment in assessing business issues and risks in a dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability in applying sensitivity and professionalism when communicating across geographical and cultural boundaries

  • Flexibility to accommodate global project schedules, which may include off-hours conference calls and domestic and international travel that may be required
