The HRIS Analyst is responsible for the administration, security and data integrity of computerized human resources information systems (HRIS) to include systems development, implementation, maintenance, reporting, data analysis and identification trends within data reporting, i.e. turnover ratios, reasons for terminations, etc., process development, systems enhancements and the development of business continuity plan. This position also performs audit of payroll and human resources data in the HRIS and Payroll systems by performing the following duties.


  • Identifies and integrates processes within the department and HRIS to ensure efficiency of operations.
  • Identifies systems for efficient human resources system process by researching, reviewing, negotiating and recommending technology solutions.
  • Trains department and organizational staff on system access and utilization. Provides user phone support as needed to assist with troubleshooting issues. May develop training materials as needed to facilitate orientation to system.
  • Responsible for human resources systems security and administers system settings and responsible for creating workflows, menus and other items necessary for optimal use of system. Maintains systems to ensure efficient operations, processing, and report generation.
  • Conducts regular audits of employee data and records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining internal processes and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
  • May input data to system as required to maintain records.
  • Researches when and how to upgrade system to meet changing user and organizational needs. Responsible for the research and evaluation of HRIS vendors, if needed, to determine if products match organization needs and budget.
  • Provides technical support and trouble-shooting to Human Resources personnel for the HRIS and other systems in the department (including but not limited to: Org Chart software, ADP, recruitment software and other human resources systems).
  • Creates all statistical and other data reports for HR personnel and Executive Management.
  • Coordinate with other departments in the Bank for the flow of employee information including sensitive and confidential information.
  • Provides client service and technical support to company personnel for Employee Self-Service and Manager Self-Service modules of HRIS.
  • During implementation phase of project, assists with determination of the scope of various HRIS systems by consulting with human resources management and personnel to ascertain organizational needs for human resources-related information.
  • Working with IT, recommends hardware and software needed to operate systems.
  • Prepares and maintains progress reports during implementation phases to inform management of project status and deviation from goals.
  • During implementation phase, oversees system test, data conversion, and link-ups with other systems and locations. Monitors HRIS system and all link-ups to ensure they function properly.
  • Provides back-up support to Benefits Administrator and Payroll Manager.
  • Maintains Employee page on company Internet, adds announcements etc.
  • Responsible for adherence to all compliance program, including but not limited to, completion of all required and assigned training modules by establishing due dates.
  • Understands and complies with requirements of all laws and regulations applicable to position.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Knowledge and Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a must have knowledge of human resources processes and methodology, database software (Access, or other SQL based programs, and ADP); Human Resource systems; Internet software; Payroll systems (ADP programs preferred) and Spreadsheet software. The individual should also understand how to write queries using basic SQL and develop simple web pages in html using Dreamweaver or an equivalent. Knowledge of Crystal Reports is also helpful.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's Degree and 3 or more years of experience with relational databases. Strong attention to detail, and understanding of information systems is essential. Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills as well as the ability to communicate complicated and technical processes and concepts to personnel with varied skill sets are also required. An understanding of HR processes and concepts is required, in addition to a basic understanding of labor laws.
