Medline's HR team has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner based at our corporate headquarters in Northfield, IL. We are looking for an exceptional HR professional who thrives in an extremely fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. Under the direction of the Vice President-Human Resources, the HRBP directs, coordinates and administers all human resources activities such as employment, compensation, employee relations, training, and employee services in Finance The HRBP implements the organization's human resource strategy so that we attract, manage, develop and retain the employees we need to achieve our current and future business objectives. In addition, this individual ensures HR operates in accordance with federal, state, and local employment requirements, e.g., Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII, etc.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead implementation of people-related services, policies, and programs. Assist and advise division managers about Human Resources issues.
  • Administer processes and metrics that support the achievement of the organization's business goals.
  • Counsel and assist business leaders to maintain, identify and implement actions that improve or maintain a positive employee relations environment. Identify any internal and external factors that may affect employee retention; address these issues by working in concert with managers/supervisors to develop proactive strategies to meet or exceed turnover goals.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance standards and performance management in order to foster a higher performance culture.
  • Partner with leaders on talent planning initiatives such as succession and development plans.
  • Provide counsel and guidance to managers and employees regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on recruitment and selection of candidates. Interview and participate in the selection of candidates to fill key division positions. Promote best practices and utilization of behavioral based interviewing approaches.
  • Support developing and mentoring key division staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.
  • Administer the Company's compensation programs. Ensure internal consistency and market competitive pay in administering job evaluations and compensation programs. Compose new and revised job profiles and recommend evaluations. Assist local managers with salary and wage administration to ensure pay consistency and equity.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications
Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources positions
  • Strong service orientation
  • Strong problem solving, coaching, counseling and conflict resolution skills
  • Possess leadership ability, strong communication and management skills and work well with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Persuade and influence decision makers/demonstrate knowledge of policy interpretation as well as HR strategies
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills within a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to employment and labor
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization
  • Experience reviewing and reconnecting on actions and with people to ensure the completion of the task
  • Experience controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines
  • PHR/SPHR preferred
