Emerson Construction is a premier General Contractor located in Central Texas and is currently hiring for an experienced Human Resource Manager. 

This position handles a multitude of tasks and requires someone who is detail-oriented, able to multi-task, able to juggle a variety of confidential duties, as well as be customer service driven. 

The minimum requirements for this position are: 

  • Five (5) years of managerial and supervisory experience in public or private personnel management; OR
  • A bachelor's degree in personnel management and three (3) years general experience in the HR field; OR
  • A Master's degree in Human Resource Management or related Personnel/Human Resources field; OR
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to administer the principles and practices of personnel management

This position is responsible for all company human resource functions which would include compliance with employment regulations, benefit management, payroll including contract-related payroll requirements, recruiting, and retention. 

Job functions for this position include but are not limited to:                  

  • Responsible for labor relations and provides advice or counsel on personnel issues.
  • Stays current on federal, state and case law changes and monitors employment law updates
  • Administers personnel policies (handbook)
  • Directs payroll processing for field and staff
  • Designs personnel forms and maintenance of personnel records
  • Administers the 401(k) plan
  • Oversees the employee benefit program to include the selection of plans, the billing, and administering of all plan offerings. 
  • Monitors and appeal unemployment claims
  • Coordinates recruitment efforts, coordinates interviews, accepts resumes and applications
  • Participate in and coordinate salary surveys as well as providing suggestions for implementation within the organization.
  • Coordinate with other business leaders for ensure training and development needs are being met. 
  • Participate in succession and business planning.
  • Lead the events committee and assists in organizing Company events
  • Assists auditors on Emerson's payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, as well as any other applicable regulations.
  • Exposure to managing company safety policies and reporting a plus.

This person must have human resource experience, knowledge, and business acumen. They would also have exceptional communication skills, reading/writing comprehension, teamwork mentality, proficient computer skills, and the ability to follow direction.
