Intercity Transit is currently recruiting for one fulltime position of Information Systems Technician in our Information Systems division. We are looking for a candidate with experience providing IS Support, particularly desktop support, in an Enterprise environment.  The ideal candidate will have technical qualifications in a Microsoft environment, as well as the soft skills necessary to be effective with non-technology users.

 

Note that Intercity Transit is subject to requirements of the Federal Drug-Free Workplace Act and CFR Part 40 & Part 655, which prohibits the use of marijuana at any time while employed by Intercity Transit. Excellent benefits include health insurance, PERS and deferred comp retirement plans, and paid sick and vacation leave. Wage range is $25.09 to $33.87 per hour.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Provides Help Desk support.

  • Performs system wide troubleshooting and maintenance, including assisting IS Analysts.

  • Conducts preliminary investigation of user problems; seeks guidance on complex issues.

  • Responds by either repairing or issuing temporary replacement of equipment.

  • Prepares and trains users on proper operation of IS check-out equipment.

  • Provides desktop support including installing PC’s, laptops and other hardware for Agency staff.

  • Creates standardized computer images and software installation packages for backup and recovery;

  • Troubleshoots and resolves various workstation issues.

  • Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning of desktop PC’s and laptops, printers, faxes and other IS equipment at scheduled intervals or as needed.

     

    REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree or two-year technical certificate;

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience (two years) may be considered.

  • Ability to Install and maintain a variety of hardware, software, and peripheral equipment;

  • Skilled in operating computers and related software applications (primarily Microsoft Office applications);

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to provide exceptional customer service;

  • Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving minor hardware, software and peripheral equipment issues;

  • Familiar with records management (for purposes of inventory);

  • Experience in authoring training materials and self-help knowledge base articles;

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Must be willing to submit to a criminal background investigation, the results of which must meet the agency’s hiring criteria.
