The Installation Manager is responsible for managing all aspects and functions of assigned HVAC installation projects to include direct oversight for planning, coordinating, and directing activities of the installation department; maintaining  a workforce consistent with business activity; scheduling projects to ensure profitability, timely completion, and maximum customer satisfaction; communication of installation information to proper personnel to allow for effective planning and execution of project requirements; as well as management and development  of employees to create a positive work environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct oversight of dispatching, ordering, warehousing, truck inventory and maintenance, and tool inventory and maintenance.
  • Accurate ordering of materials to complete each installation
  • Approve assignment of installation crews to each installation job.
  • Oversee the coordination of materials procurement with approved vendors for maximum efficiency and cost.
  • Inventory management to include:
    • Overseeing the tracking of all unused materials.
    • Returning what can be returned.
    • Reusing what can be reused on another job.
    • Overseeing the inventory of all truck and warehouse material and product stock. 
  • Maintain safety and quality as a top priority by:
    • Scheduling and conducting monthly safety meetings.
    • Conducting regular job site inspections.
    • Conducting regular truck inspections.
  • Maintain departmental budget expectations to include job costing analysis of completed jobs. 
  •  Assist salespersons in evaluation of appropriate products and pricing for clients.
  • Conduct job preinspections for ease of installation, materials cost control and safety of install team.
  • Oversee and track scrap recycling program to maximize departmental revenue.
  • Obtain necessary company certifications as required.
  • Participate in all company sponsored training classes.
  • Travel with employees to training functions as required.
  • Conduct employee engagement to include:
    • Definition of training schedules for advancement of all departmental employees.
    • Identification of strengths and weakness and design of appropriate training programs for each employee to maximize full potential.
    • Effectively manage conflict resolution with clients through clear communication, addressing all concerns, questions, or problems expediently.
    • Recruit potential department hires.
    • Weekly communication with Corporate Talent Acquisition with regards to hiring and manpower planning.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the fundamental of operational functionality of residential and light commercial heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment.
  • Knowledge of the layout and installation requirements for residential and light commercial HVAC.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of current HVAC products to include thermostats and IAQ products.
  • Required knowledge of local codes and permitting requirements.
  • Solid communication and customer service skills. Large group office management experience.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

EDUCATIONAL/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • GED or High School Diploma.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of verifiable HVAC residential, light commercial, sheet metal experience or 4 years of related experience with an Associate's degree in a related field.
  • EPA certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree in related field.
  • NATE certifications.

  • Pass a Drug Screening.
