Job Description:

The Agribusiness Capital Commercial Lender Intern position is responsible for participation in a 12-week (40 hours/week) Intern Program with specific emphasis upon learning the primary responsibilities of Agribusiness Capital Lending. Interns will actively participate in the assigned group intern project. This position will receive an hourly wage of $17 per hour, plus a $250 starting bonus.

Candidates pursuing their MBA or a Masters degree in Agribusiness or Finance preferred. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Position Summary:
Responsible for learning tasks in Agribusiness Capital lending. Responsible for learning and understanding activities involved with identifying, acquiring, analyzing, underwriting, monitoring, servicing, and/or sales of large and complex loans, including originated as well as purchased loan activity. Will assist an Agribusiness Capital Commercial Lender with portfolios of moderately complex loans and/or sales of specific loan syndications. Learn how to develop and maintain relationships with customers, financial partners, and industry contacts that provide and enhance ongoing loan and sales opportunities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
1. Learn how to develop and maintain a portfolio of large and complex loan assets that meet or exceed quality and income expectations and appropriately utilize Association capital.
2. Assist with developing, maintaining and enhancing relationships with large commercial agribusinesses and system lenders.
3. Observe and/or assist in advanced credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring.
4. Learn how to manage the sales of assigned loan syndications and participations and amendments, waivers, refinances or other loan serving actions or administrative agent responsibilities.
5. Learn how to assist in structuring assigned credits, in coordination with relationship officers, credit staff and customers.
6. Observe the process for selection and approval of loan investments.
7. Attend staff meetings and participate, if applicable.
8. Complete special projects as assigned.

Additional functions of the position may include:
1. Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate and critique such information as written materials, numerical data, responses to customer needs and/or other work related activities.
• Ability to complete work in an acceptable timeframe and manage a variety of detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives and satisfy internal and external customer needs related to the job.
• Ability to operate telephone and respond to calls and in-person inquiries.
• Ability to move about the office with occasional reaching and bending.
• Ability to successfully interact with and represent the organization to staff, officers, board members, customers, and the public at all levels.
• Ability to use a keyboard and computer. This involves reading the screen and keying/typing information.
• Ability to travel by auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities
