**Job Description:**

Bank of America-Merrill Lynch is currently seeking a Fixed Income Analyst to play a key role as part of a fixed income due diligence team of five that selects third-party investment managers for client investment. This position is focused primarily on fixed income strategies, though the candidate will be exposed to a broader array of coverage over time. The candidate must have strong research and communication skills, an ability to develop and articulate insight, and a strong understanding of global financial markets. This is an Assistant Vice President level position based in lower Manhattan.

The ideal candidate will have a background in / knowledge of fixed income securities, due diligence, and / or investment strategy.

**Responsibilities Include:**

The role supports lead Analysts in their responsibilities, with expectations to develop the skill-sets to become a lead Analyst over time. The responsibilities of an Analyst include:

+ Assessing investment/fund manager skill through qualitative and quantitative analysis combined with in-person and phone interviews

+ Writing and editing comprehensive investment manager evaluations and presenting recommendations to investment committees

+ Preparing insightful and opinionated communications in a timely manner regarding material manager events, implementation ideas, market developments, performance issues, etc. to internal advisors and business partners

+ Delivering proactive ongoing support to internal/external business partners

+ Serving as a subject matter expert for fixed income markets, strategies under coverage and the competitive landscape

+ Participating in project management implementation

+ Traveling (approximately 10%)

Desired Skills:

+ 3-5+ years of experience in financial services (such as asset management, investment bank, endowment/pension fund, rating agencies, manager due diligence, etc)

+ A team first approach to meaningfully contribute to a collaborative working environment

+ Knowledge on aspects of fixed income markets, fundamental valuation analysis, financial modeling, asset allocation, and market research

+ Demonstrated analytical orientation. Over time, a person in this role is expected to build and defend well supported investment opinions based on insights drawn from interviews, intellectual curiosity, data analysis and peer group awareness. Additionally, the individual must have an ability to concisely deliver these insights both verbally and in professional written form with little required editing.

+ Organizational and time management skills in order to meet deadlines

+ Strong quantitative skills and knowledge of investment-related statistics

+ Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point

+ MBA, MS, JD, or other relevant advanced degree preferred

+ CFA Charterholders or candidates preferred, or willingness to work toward CFA designation

Series 7 & 66 licenses are a plus
