As we continue to grow, we have an opportunity for an experienced Director of Networks in our Mundelein, IL office.

JOB SUMMARY:
This person will serve as a member of Medlines Senior Leadership group, influences department direction, decisions and other activities. In addition, this person will act as a key cross functional liaison for the networking landscape towards Medlines business units, as well as other I/S groups and will be accountable for the availability and performance of Medlines data networks across all business units: Core, Branch and Manufacturing.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as a member of I/S Senior Leadership team:
Work closely with other I/S executives to set and implement department direction in a variety of fronts
Drive visioning activities relating to technical infrastructure and I/S department processes, coach and manage these visions to implementation
Translate business changes, issues and requests to their appropriate impact on I/S
Communicate system issues/impacts with users in non-technical terms " coach staff on the same
Maintain management-level familiarity and expertise for networking technologies, stay current with infrastructure trends and developments.
Create ITIL-based process and procedure to be employed by department/teams, related to infrastructure landscapes in scope.
Maintain team capacity and technical expertise required to meet departmental needs at a high level of execution.
Exercise discretion and independent judgment in analyzing information requests and determining trends.
Gather, compile, verify, and analyze information for the leaders use in documents such as memos, letters, reports, speeches, and presentations.
Participate in personnel strategies including recruiting, retention, hiring, firing, performance coaching and reviews, corrective action, career development.
Provide guidance in compensation for reporting teams, including incentive programs.
Question and contribute the improvement of practices and policies and to represent I/S as a whole to the business community, regardless of their specific area of responsibility.
Contain costs within networking landscape, including vendor management responsibility for quality, pricing and delivery.
Contribute to organizations success. Keep management, other team members and other departmental employees aware of status changes as necessary. Use judgment to determine when such communication is necessary.
Maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Consistently able to interact professionally and work productively with all levels of Medline employees. Follow Medlines Code of Ethics and other corporate policies.

Job Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent in training and experience
At least 5 years in progressive leadership roles
Demonstrated successful experience managing technical teams
Demonstrate history of managing successful infrastructure-focused projects
Achieved some number of technical certifications (MS, Cisco, VMware, PMP, etc.)
Demonstrate knowledge of data center technologies, especially network and security landscapes
General knowledge of network operation, IP subnets, routing and switching
Comfortable working in areas of new construction and familiar with associated site safety requirements
Knowledge of Industry best practices pertaining to infrastructure design and management
Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to collaborate with internal and external business/technical teams
Good written and verbal communications skills
Ability to work out of any of our Chicagoland area facilities on any given day
Up to 15% overnight domestic travel required
