Position Summary:

Responsible for managing the components/functions in the development and support areas. Provides direction to analysts, developers, and/or engineers regarding the development and implementation of automated solutions for existing and new systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively collaborates with a high level of team interaction using strong interpersonal skills. Leverages pair programming and p roactively communicates with team members to perform work, identify and resolve issues, update statuses, and analyze and report on alternative design solutions.
  • Provides a high level of technical leadership. Leads product development activities, works collaboratively with management and leads technical resources, the business, and QA.
  • Leads the analysis and building of solutions for complex business systems
  • Provides technical direction and leadership in modernization of legacy systems
  • Assists in coaching/mentoring other developers on the team
  • Practices DevOps principles and builds end-to-end automated solutions where possible
  • Communicates complex technical topics to non-technical audiences
  • Estimates, tracks and reports status on tasks
  • Periodically provides on-call support
  • Travel required up to 25% of the time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree with coursework in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business with a concentration in MIS or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 + years of software development experience required with 2+ years in a leadership role preferred architecting, designing and engineering highly complex projects crossing multiple platforms and diverse technologies to include:
  • Planning, estimating, performing and tracking work related to systems development, systems process analysis, process design or process reengineering.
  • Resolving system problems with some complexity in a team setting, including evaluation of options to determine optimal solution.
  • Designing and implementing solutions and/or architectural design patterns requiring complex technologies in an enterprise environment across multiple platforms.
  • Working in an agile environment, delivering continuous improvement, and efficiencies.

Knowledge Area/Technical Skills/Certifications and Licenses:
  • Software Design and Development
  • Leadership/management
  • Handling and managing performance of large volumes of data
  • Java script libraries and frameworks (Angular/ReactJS/Vue.js)
  • Developing back end services using REST API's and Microservices architecture (Spring and related open source frameworks)
  • SQL and JMS
  • Continuous Integration and deployment tools (Jenkins or other related tools) and Automated Testing (unit test frameworks, Selenium)
  • Secure Coding Practices (SAST, DAST, etc.)
  • Relevant professional certification (preferred)
