Valuation Risk and Control (VRC), a centralized analytical group within Product Control, addresses valuation issues across the Firm. VRC is responsible for reviewing Firm's trading inventories and associated valuation models, performing alternative valuation procedures for illiquid inventories. VRC is also responsible for valuation governance policies and valuation reporting.

The individual will support the Interest Rates and Foreign Exchange Americas Group and analyze trading products including bonds, interest rate swaps, swaptions, listed investor relations products, loans and credit products. As an Exempt Non-Officer, the individual will work closely with trading desks, trade support, technology, financial control and other infrastructure areas to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of trading results including management commentaries and exception processing. In addition, the individual will perform month-end and mid-month valuation control functions and reporting of results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing month-end and intra-month price testing, which include pricing the portfolio against external transactions and third party vendor pricing results
  • Manage reporting of commentary and presenting price testing results at monthly supervisory review meetings
  • Providing ad hoc analysis of requests to senior managers in Product Control and the Front Office
  • Crafting Independent Price Valuation reporting packs for senior management
  • Proactively identifying valuation issues for investigation and resolution
  • Interacting regularly with and providing responses to internal and external auditors for both recurring as well as one-time audits.

You Offer
Valuation Controllers need to be highly attentive to both valuation and operational risks; they also need to exhibit a high degree of attention to detail in all aspects of their work.

  • A Financial Engineering degree or equivalent is preferable
  • Technical understanding of fixed income products
  • 0-2 years of working experience
  • Ability to improve and help automate relevant processes
  • Detailed understanding of the market and able to implement procedures and react appropriately to market condition changes
  • Hardworking with outstanding organizational and problem solving skills
