**Job Description:**

Responsible for developing, modifying and/or maintaining applications in the Global Markets environment. Software developers design, code, test, debug, document programs as well as maintain corporate systems architecture. Employees work closely with business partners in defining requirements for system applications. Employees typically have in-depth knowledge of development tools and languages. Employees are expected to have in-depth global markets product knowledge, and manage a high level of risk. Is clearly recognized as a content expert by peers. Individual contributor role. Global Financial Crimes Data Technology team delivers solutions for the enhanced monitoring of suspicious activity across Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Economic Sanctions. One of the key programs is to deliver AML monitoring across the Broker Dealer space in the bank. This project entails end to end delivery of a new strategic data lake to provision data, new AML models, and new interface for delivering data to the GFC Investigations teams and Risk Management. As the Senior Data Analyst/Scientist you will be on point to ensure the data strategy is in line with the multiyear strategy. You will be on point to turn data into information, information into insight and insight into comprehensive data strategy. The Senior Data Analyst / Modeler will be on point for the data analysis for the BDM project as well as any other critical programs towards the build-out of the strategic Data Lake.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Work closely with Financial Crimes Analysts and Quantitative Modelers to review business requirements and data needs.

+ Data analysis including data mapping, data lineage, report analysis, interface definitions.

+ Data profiling and collect / interpret data, analyze results using analytical techniques, and provide ongoing results in a comprehensive manner.

+ Establish data model for strategic data lake for the various structured and unstructured data requirements.

+ Cultivate the team and the infrastructure to support modeling and analyzing customer / account and transaction data for AML / Economic Sanctions monitoring.

+ Communicate complex ideas clearly and with impact across multiple levels in the organization.

+ Liaise with upstream data providers to provision data and establish robust data controls.

+ Provide solutions to overcome complex data requirements, (e.g., VLDB, multi-structured, ""big data"", etc.) as well as deployment of advanced techniques (e.g., machine learning, text mining, statistical analysis, etc.) to deliver insights.

+ Determine best practices in the areas of Data Science and Machine Learning.

+ Perform automated data reconciliations to validate completeness and accuracy of data; identify and interpret trends or patterns of differences to identify resolutions.

+ Establish metrics reporting to monitor, report, and track differences to closure; provide senior management reporting. "

**Required Skills:**

+ 10+ years of Data Analysis / Data Modeling experience with detailed analytical abilities.

+ Advanced knowledge of business processes and data analysis, as well as the ability to construct complex data queries and collaborate with colleagues.

+ Understanding, knowledge and experience in data strategy, data governance, data management, data lineage, and data quality disciplines.

+ Ability to liaison between business partners and development teams, translating strategic goals into technology solutions.

+ Strong critical thinking and data analysis skills. Experienced in collecting, organizing, and evaluating business data

+ Understands databases; strong technical skills in querying and analyzing data (SQL or equivalent) and strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.)

+ Experience with technologies that store, transport and manipulate data; i.e. Hadoop.

+ Tech-savvy with aptitude for learning new data technologies such as Big Data-related tooling.

+ Inquisitive nature; able to ask pertinent questions that tease out issues and drive the analysis and decisions forward.

+ Strong analytical skills; able to demonstrate out-of-the-box problem solving with enthusiastic 'can-do' attitude.

+ Excellent communication skills.

+ Ability to manage issues and influence others to re-mediate.

+ Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

**Desired Skills:**
