Responsibilities:
The Leave of Absence Coordinator primary responsibilities will be to be the first point of contact for questions and processing of Leave's of Absence and Worker's Compensation company-wide.  LOA's may include, but are not limited to FMLA, CFRA, OFLA, and ADA activity, as well as Worker’s Compensation and related safety programs.  Ensures applicable forms, tools, process and policies are current and appropriate based upon requirements and changes to Federal or State Laws. Responsible for daily and weekly paperwork and database process, such as tracking and monitoring leaves of absences and attendance records according to established procedures. Dependability and reliability is a must for this position. Candidate must have the skills and ability that ensure routine tasks/activities are completed on schedule and meet business needs. Ability to work with all levels in the organization and corporate offices.  Work will be performed in a high energy, fast pace, interrupt driven work environment. Ability to effectively multi-task is key to the candidate’s success. Candidate must have proven ability to work both successfully independently and as a team member. 

•Serve as the first point of contact for questions, intake of leave requests, preparing and sending required notices, forms and letters, evaluating health certification information, determining leave eligibility, conducting interactive process discussions, initiating and managing employee LOAs and Worker's Compensation claims, while ensuring adherence to and compliance with all applicable federal and state leave requirements. 
•Support employees with information and direction related to their LOA, including, but not limited to, short-term or long-term disability. 
•Ensure maintenance of accurate and complete LOA records, files, and reporting in accordance with company processes, policies and procedures, as well as any applicable regulatory requirements.  
•Responsible for tracking all documentation, notifications, correspondence, and administration details accurately and in a timely manner.
•Ensure that appropriate and timely follow-up information is provided to employees in response to requests for information (e.g. - documents, forms).
•Assist with preparing reports and help identify trends related to company leave, worker’s compensation and ADA activity.
•Track leave time and time card management, working with employees and managers to ensure proper timekeeping in Workday. 
•Work effectively in team environment where collaboration and the knowledge transfer process are critical for success. 
•Contribute to projects and programs related to absence, safety and accommodation management, and/or cross-functional HR initiatives
•Make recommendations and contribute to continuous improvement opportunities. 
•Use sound judgment to escalate questions and issues to senior HR LOA resources or HR Management appropriately.
•Perform other related duties as required or requested. 
 
Required Skills and Knowledge:
•Proficiency as HR systems user for tracking and administration of LOA, Worker’s Compensation, Safety and ADA activity.
•Hands-on experience communicating directly with employees, processing documentation, interactive process discussions and documentation, managing records for, tracking and coordinating high volumes of Leaves of Absence in multiple states, including Worker's Compensation. 
•Hands on experience with related areas of LOAs such as pay, benefits, Return to Work programs and process, Worker's Compensation processes and requirements, and best practices in preventative safety and absence management programs. 
•Intermediate skills with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
•Proficiency of LOA, ADA and Worker’s Compensation Laws (Federal and State) across multiple states including, but not limited to, California, Texas, Oregon and Florida. 
•Ability to communicate, and collaborate effectively within HR, employees, management, and cross functionally.
•Detail oriented and strong organization skills.

•Able to work in face paced environment for extended periods of time, 8-12 hrs./day

•Lift/carry/push/pull under and over 10lbs occasionally
•Keying frequency, handling, reaching, fine manipulation
•Able to work extended hours during critical project phases
 
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating a thorough understanding of leave of absence and worker’s compensation policy and procedures.
Certification or education in Human Resources highly desired
4+ years of progressive and relevant Human Resources work experience, demonstrating the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and demonstrating general knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures
•Three or more years of Human Resources experience specifically in a leave and worker’s compensation capacity, demonstrating sound knowledge of administration policies and procedures
•Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and State Leave laws, and how they work together
