What does this role look like?

Responsible for driving a designated route to load and/or unload freight safely and timely.

Some of your main responsibilities will be:

  • Delivering and receiving fuel and/or propane to and from company tanks, customer tanks, and airplanes as required.
  • Performing customer service activities, including fuel attendant duties; assisting with gasoline pump meter readings, sales slips and credit card charges; performing daily vehicle inspections and requisition parts and repairs.
  • Performing or assisting with weekly inspections of facilities; assisting maintenance crews with maintenance and upgrades.
  • Acting as a first responder to spill incidents.

Must-haves:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or experience in lieu of education..
  • Two years of experience operating vehicles that require a CDL.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL with Tanker, Hazardous Materials and Air Brake endorsements or can obtain the endorsements.
  • Meet the current driver qualifications as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Possess a current Medical Certificate.

  • Experience hauling fuel & handling petroleum products.
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card).

What an average day looks like:

  • You attend safety meetings, check retain amounts and make a plan for scheduled deliveries, complete accurate Pre-trip DVIR and other paperwork.
  • You refuel trucks at fueling rack, following all safety procedures.
  • You drive to various locations to deliver product per dispatch instructions. Contact with customers should always be respectful and courteous.
  • You navigate uneven work surfaces to tank locations, conducting safe fill procedures, documenting fuel delivery accurately and communicating back with dispatch any and all relevant information.
  • You safely and efficiently make deliveries throughout the day to various locations.
  • You complete post-trip and turn in accurate delivery documentation. Follow all safety procedures with regards to operating a fuel truck and fueling deliveries.

Working Conditions

  • Works both inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures.

FLSA Status
The position is Non-Exempt. May require the ability to work overtime to meet required deadlines. Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health.
