Summary of Role
Develop and implement strategies and programs that strengthen, protect and advance the Associations growing portfolio of brands. Responsible for the day-to-day management of multiple brands, including the AICPA, CPA and CGMA designation, ensuring adherence to brand standards, guiding decision-making and recommending strategies and solutions.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Associate Director, Communications, Advertising and Brand Management to oversee the development of new brands and ongoing maintenance of existing brands as well as annual brand management planning

  • Leads and manages brand programs and campaigns, collaborating with agency teams, staff and internal clients to enhance our brand image to target audiences

  • Brings forward-thinking ideas, applies insights and offers big picture thinking to projects and programs, and counsels business owners on brand considerations and makes recommendations

  • Contributes to brand positioning, value propositions and messaging development across products, advertising and campaigns, and ensures brand alignment

  • Manages the biennial AICPA, CPA and CGMA brand research projects and other research projects in support of strategic initiatives with a brand component

  • Works with key stakeholders on the development and implementation of an Association staff brand and brand champions program

  • Addresses member questions from SCO related to brand

  • Serves as lead for naming projects, coordinates with naming agencies or internal resources, conducts initial searches as required and interfaces with Legal on trademark searches

  • Ensures changes in trademark status are communicated to the Creative team and proofreader on a regular basis and that brand guidelines are updated

  • Serves as lead for AICPA advertising requests and oversees development of ads from initiating the job request to final signoff and delivery

  • Manages the CPA marketing toolkit, including annual review of materials, usage monitoring and reporting, enhancement recommendations and toolkit promotion to members

  • Excellent communication, writing and project management skills

  • Strong business acumen, research and analytical skills and strategic thinking

  • Ability to work collaboratively and build consensus among various communications team members and technical specialists; strong listening skills

  • Ability to develop comprehensive, integrated marketing communications plans and campaigns

  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively, and translate technical information into user-friendly communications

  • Ability to work independently and perform well under pressure to meet project deadlines and goals and resolve challenges

  • Knowledge of brand management, social media strategy and implementation, and market research

  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively

  • Budget-management skills and proficiency

  • Professional judgment and discretion that comes from years of experience in the field

  • Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges

  • Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.
Required Experience, Qualifications & Education

  • 5-7 years experience in an agency or corporate environment with direct brand management experience

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing or related field

Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education

  • Previous B-to-C marketing communications experience

  • Familiarity with the accounting and finance field
