JOB
SUMMARY:




Responsible for the development and
refinement of financial analytic models, and applications for the Banks
various business segments, and for providing effective financial forecasts for
the enablement of business decisions. Compiles, tracks, analyzes and presents
actual results against business plans. Manages
and performs comprehensive data collection, querying, data analysis, data
modeling, and data visualizations.
Utilizes a wide range of analytical, quantitative, and statistical
techniques and tools to derive insights from large, complex data sets, and
deliver findings and recommendations. Ensures
the performance of all duties in accordance with the companys policies and
procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the
company operates.




ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Compiles,
    analyzes and prepares various monthly and ad hoc financial reports and
    recommendations on analytic projects. Performs and supervises various financial
    analyses and prepares financial data for management reporting.
  2. Partners
    directly in the technical build-out and support of databases, query tools,
    reporting tools, BI tools, dashboards, etc., to enable analysis, modeling, and
    advanced data visualization. Provides direction on report content,
    calculations, metrics, data quality validation, data cleansing, layout and
    frequency.
  3. Participates
    in the preparation of annual budgets for Executive and Board of Director
    approval; including working with executive team to outline strategic objectives
    and financial targets, and coordinating with managers to develop departmental
    plan.
  4. Performs
    financial analysis utilizing advanced quantitative methods, data mining, modeling,
    and analytical tools to identify opportunities, deliver sound insights and solutions
    regarding a wide array of business initiatives.
  5. Participates in the reporting of key
    business metrics. Reviews the performance of competitors to determine key issues
    and engages in benchmarking studies to establish areas of potential operational
    improvement.
  6. Develops
    and maintains organizational profitability reporting, including cost center
    level analysis and monthly review with departmental and executive management.
  7. Provides mentorship and leadership to
    team members and business partners by demonstrating advanced competency of
    financial analysis techniques, internal bank operations and knowledge of
    industry standards.
  8. Performs
    personnel actions including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and
    interviewing candidates for employment; supervises the daily activities of the
    team including, but not limited to, effective delegation of assignments,
    developing work schedules and providing necessary training.
  9. Continually provides guidance to
    management in regards to the improvement, maintenance, and documentation of
    department systems, policies and procedures.
  10. Treats

  • Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to,

    and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the
    following: Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit
    Opportunity Act), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA),
    Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act
    (FCRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act,
    Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Information Program (CIP), Right to
    Financial Privacy Act (RFPA, state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act
    (CRA)
  • Expert knowledge with regression models,
    stochastic modeling, and Monte-Carlo simulation
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting tools and techniques
  • Strong knowledge of banking industry products,
    principles, concepts, and terminology
  • Effective organizational
    and time management skills
  • Advanced skills in computer terminal and
    personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not
    limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook
  • Advanced math skills; calculate interest and
    percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units
    of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine
    mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and
    interpretation of bar graphs
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal
    communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out
    instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and
    correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees
  • Ability
    to gather and mine into large data sets to identify issues, extract strategic
    insights and solve problems
  • Ability
    to make decisions that have significant impact on the immediate work unit and cross
    functional departments
  • Ability
    to provide consultation and expert advice to management
  • Ability
    to make informal and formal presentations, speaking before assigned team or
    other groups as needed
  • Ability
    to deal with complex difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables
    in non-standardized situations

EDUCATION,
EXPERIENCE AND/OR LICENSES:



  • Bachelors
    degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance,
    Business Administration, Economics, Applied Mathematics or other quantitative
    field.
  • Seven (7) or more
    years experience in a progressively responsible financial analytics, financial
    planning and analysis or related role.
  • Three (3) or more years
    of analytics and financial modeling experience.
  • Two (2) or more years
    of direct management experience.
  • Experience
    with analytical software packages/tools/languages, visualization tools and
    applying such tools to streamline reporting.
