Summary:
Responsible for working with various government agencies and Crowley business units to manage systems, processes and operations that support government customers.

General Responsibilities:
Ensure the strategic direction and tactical operating procedures for government business customers is executed properly. Manage and train the logistics staff by monitoring, controlling and support supply chain government services. Ensure all required delivery dates are met timely and that Government cargo is handled in accordance with appropriate federal regulations and contractual requirements. Coordinate and plan operations to support Government customers that may span several business units. Create and submit proposals and manage the government acquisition process. Responsible for the analysis, implementation and maintenance of government tender based transportation rates. Provide international and domestic on-site representation as required. Represent Crowley to government customers on sales and customer service basis.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, transportation or a related field. Master's degree and Lean Six Sigma preferred.

Experience:
5 or more years of experience in the trucking or maritime industry. U.S. Government logistics, transportation or acquisition preferred.

Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Access and Excel.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external business partners. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to indirectly mentor, coach, train and/or supervise employees. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to identify and/or document existing and new trend, as well as evaluate and predict their impact on the organization. Knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts, principles and practices of change management. Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related professional/company standards as well as applicable federal, state and/or local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. Knowledge of and ability to apply the principles and practices to strategically align tasks and people with organizational goals and objectives.

Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
