Note: We are currently seeking two Enterprise Business Development Manager II positions, one will be focused on increasing exposure to Financial Institutions, Private Equity Funds, Hedge Funds and other Investment Funds. The second position will focus on increasing exposure with select law firms and corporations.



RESPONSIBILITIES: ( Financial Institutions)

  • This Manager II, Enterprise Business Development role will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer of Duff & Phelps and will be located in our New York City office.

  • Develop new revenue opportunities across all of Duff & Phelps four business units (Valuation Advisory Services / Governance, Risk, Investigations and Disputes / Corporate Finance / Prime Clerk).

  • Collaborate with Duff & Phelps Managing Directors across numerous service lines to increase exposure to Financial Institutions, Private Equity Funds, Hedge Funds and other Investment Funds.

  • The primary target market for this role comprises Chief Financial Officers, Chief Compliance Officers and General Counsels. Additional targets may vary based on candidates existing relationship network.

  • Together with key business stakeholders such as Managing Directors and the Chief Revenue Officer, contribute to the development of target plans, identify sales strategies, support the discovery and prioritization of Firm revenue generation opportunities, and outline targeted activities to maximize revenue growth potential.

  • Coordinate and participate in meetings with financial institutions, funds and corporations, along with Duff & Phelps colleagues as appropriate.

  • Support business development outreach initiatives which will require initiating and organizing meetings and phone calls with prospective clients, prepare letters and email, and participate in preparation of prospect-specific collateral.

  • Plan and execute logistical aspects of client networking events, including venue scouting and reservations.

  • Compile presentation/proposal materials including bios, financial institution and fund information, and publications relevant to the primary target market.

  • Ensure accurate revenue forecasting and pipeline management to facilitate clear reporting of opportunities in Salesforce. Leverage Salesforce to track business development efforts and to manage status updates, priorities and next steps.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of D&Ps suite of products and services to increase the value and adoption of D&P solutions by our clients and prospects.

  • Maintain a current understanding of competitors offerings and market trends.

RESPONSIBILITIES: ( Law Firm)

  • This Manager II role will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer of Duff & Phelps and will be located in our New York City office.

  • The primary target market for this role is attorneys, mainly Partners at top law firms. Additional targets include corporate attorneys but may vary based on candidates existing relationship network.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5-7 years of relevant business development work experience selling professional services to primary target market.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.

  • Proven revenue generation exceeding $1.5 million per year.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and writing skills.

  • Experience working in either law firms or consulting firms is a plus, but not required.

  • Highly motivated, meticulous and energetic individual willing to work within a team structure.

  • Close attention to detail, including comprehensive record keeping regarding all sales activity.

  • Be able to work on multiple tasks concurrently and without supervision but also confer with superiors and seek feedback.

  • Be able to work as part of multiple teams within the business units outlined above.

  • Demonstrate a strong ability to communicate, present, and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, executive and at C-suite level.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Written and spoken proficiency in other languages such as Spanish.

  • Advanced degrees, such as JD or MBA, are a plus.
