The Medical Staff Credentialing Manager is responsible for maintaining credentialing and privileging on physicians and physician extenders in conjunction with the medical staff credentialing vendor, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, bylaws, rules and regulations as well as medical staff policies etc. This position serves as a liaison between the medical staff credentialing vendor and the facilities and assists with the overall function of medical staff credentialing across U.S. Renal Care.

Responsibilities:


Oversee the credentialing and re-credentialing of all physicians and physician extenders according to the USRC Medical Staff Bylaws and medical staff credentialing policies.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory credentialing requirements.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities to decrease cost, improve quality and increase efficiency within the department

  • R eview and update credentialing program descriptions, policies and procedures in conjunction with Director, Medical Staff Credentialing.

    • Develop and implement strategies to maintain current medical staff files.
    • Develop and deliver medical staff credentialing training to all onboarding facility administrators.
    • Oversee accuracy of medical staff credentialing database.
    • Monitor medical director board certifications to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Manage all affiliation verification requests from other healthcare entities for USRC credentialed medical staff.
    • Complete new medical staff credentialing projects as assigned by the Director of Medical Staff Credentialing.
    • Provide medical staff credentialing department oversight in absence of the Director of Medical Staff Credentialing.

    Requirements:

      Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent work experience.
  • Four (4) plus years of medical staff credentialing experience. Four (4) plus years' experience in multi-site healthcare organization. Advanced report development and data base management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills to a variety of audiences. Strong analytical skills. Advanced presentation skills to a variety of audiences. Ability to work efficiently and independently with little to no supervision. Must have advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; proficiency in USRC applications required by 90 days of hire.
