The Prudential International Insurance (PII) Department has an opening for a Manager position on the Capital Initiatives team within PII Capital and Liquidity and is seeking a self-motivated individual with strong financial analysis and interpersonal skills to join the team.




PII currently supports Prudentials insurance operations in 10 countries outside of the US (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, India), which account for roughly half of Prudentials adjusted operating income.




In this role, the Manager will have a unique opportunity to develop knowledge of PIIs businesses and strategies, including a variety of capital and liquidity concepts. There will be frequent opportunities to collaborate within the Prudential International Insurance Department, the Treasurers Department and the broader Prudential community.




The responsibilities will include supporting the following functions:




  • Partner with Actuarial, Treasury, PII Controllers and P&A, Portfolio Management, Tax and Legal to complete analysis and implementation of reinsurance transactions between PIIs operating companies and an affiliated reinsurance entity. Main deliverables include Senior Management presentations, solvency / statutory capital projections, cash flow and excess capital analysis



  • Development of related presentations for senior management, rating agencies, regulators and the Finance Committee/Board of Directors



  • Support the project management team by providing input on detailed project plans and action items list



  • Partner with PIIs local operations to optimize capital deployment while maximizing returns and supporting risk



  • Support the enhancement of enterprise stress frameworks, including oversight of Treasury capital and liquidity stress testing frameworks (Capital Protection Framework and Liquidity Stress Test)





    Responsibilities of the position may vary depending on the candidates background, skills, and experience. Other responsibilities include preparation of earnings call materials, various ad hoc requests from local operations and Corporate functions and supporting the forecast process redesign.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree preferred; Masters degree, CFA and / or CPA a plus


  • Knowledge of US GAAP and Stat financial statement


  • Familiarity with reinsurance transactions and / or accounting a plus


  • Familiarity with Bermuda Solvency Capital a plus


  • Manage complex tasks and competing priorities


  • Strong analytical, inter-personal and communication skills


  • High degree of self-motivation, passion to succeed, ownership, attention to detail and innovation


  • Strong presentation skills

  • Problem solver; ability to work through issues independently and as part of a team


  • Multi-tasking and ability to work under tight deadlines


  • Travel is not expected
