We are seeking a Manager Purchasing and Storesfor the Building Products Procurement group in Atlanta, GA. This position is responsible for serving as interim Purchasing Manager in various facilities based on the need and supporting optimization efforts across the organization. To be successful, the individual must be capable of standardizing processes in different environments and be in a ready state to respond accordingly to the demands of facility level purchasing. To effectively support a facilitys tactical and strategic activities, the individual must be self-directed, work with a high sense of urgency and possess the ability to solve problems and collaborate with other disciplines to meet internal customer needs.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


Interim Purchasing Manager

  • Assess status of current processes, projects, negotiations and sourcing events at facility and then drive to completion

  • Identify process gaps, prioritize, gain facility alignment, and implement action plans in a short period of time

  • Work with requestors to understand requirements, specifications and timing of needs

  • Quote, negotiate and purchase equipment spare parts, MRO, operating supplies and services from external vendors

  • Negotiate and execute contract agreements with external vendors

  • Manage open orders and resolve accounts payable discrepancies

  • Optimize working capital and storeroom inventory levels

  • Provide guidance and coaching for storeroom employee(s)

  • Ensure adherence to all safety, purchasing, storeroom and environmental policies and procedures

  • Assemble and analyze data, identify problems, and develop recommendations which will support optimizing processes across the BP Purchasing organization

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement organizational-wide initiatives

  • Effectively manage time and priorities while being responsible for concurrent projects

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree

  • 1 year of experience in Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain or Accounting

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel (pivot tables, data merging), PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Willing and able to travel up to 75%

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Finance or Engineering

  • Experience with purchasing system platforms (such as MP2 or SAP)

  • Experience with inventory management

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • Negotiations and contracting experience
