Summary:

The Manufacturing Associate will be responsible for performing various activities to produce subassemblies, WIP products, and finished goods in support of engineering/R&D projects.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:
Sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines including robotic assembly equipment used in the production of the company's product. Responsible for the overall operation of potentially large-scale manufacturing machinery including actions such as feeding materials for processing, adjusting settings, performing minor repairs, and pulling finished product from the line. Works from process sheets or written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks. Checks and inspects operation results against predetermined tolerances.

Work Schedule:

Must be flexible to work 2nd shift as needed, weekends and overtime, Monday through Friday. Note: Hours and shifts are subject to change.

  • 2nd Shift 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, Thursday through Monday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates hand tools, or production equipment.
  • Assembles products or sub-assemblies according to written instructions, or by following drawings or diagrams.
  • Execute redline experimental requests (ERs) independently.
  • Complete and review associated documents.
  • Compile and report yield and rejection data on a regular basis.
  • Maintain product traceability and reject tracking.
  • Able to work in multiple areas/production lines throughout the workday or work week with minimal oversight from Trainer or other experienced Manufacturing Associates.
  • Provide feedback to supervisor and engineering teams.
  • Able to describe processes to cross-function visitors.
  • Follow GMP guidelines.
  • This position assumes and performs other duties as assigned.

Experience/Education:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience and a High School diploma/certificate or equivalent.

Travel Required:

  • 0 - 24%

Functional/Business Knowledge:

  • Moderate understanding of general job aspects and some understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
  • Applies acquired job and company knowledge of policies and procedures to complete semi-routine tasks.

Scope:

  • Work at this level requires following standardized methods and under immediate supervision on assignments that are semi-routine in nature.
  • Follows pre-established guidelines and procedures with minimal choice as to method of performance of the work.
  • Has contact with employees at other levels within the company. Information exchanged is generally noncomplex.

Judgement:

  • Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.
  • Works under close supervision.

Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and standardized manufacturing procedures. Ability to read and interpret non-standard documents such as experimental requests and redlined procedures. Ability to fill out standardized documentation such as Lot History Records (LHRs) and Form Templates (FTs) and non-standardized documentation such as redlined Lot History Records (LHRs). Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, leads, and supervisors. Ability to communicate basic work instructions with colleagues. Ability to read and write routine correspondence to management and support functions. Ability to communicate clearly in front of a large audience of employees within the organization such as Gemba presentations.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret basic equations and calculate figures and amounts defined in procedures such as label reconciliation, solution concentrations, etc. Basic excel usage. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Independently resolve complex issues in their functional area and obtain proper support/resources or escalate, if necessary
