InSinkErator islooking for a highly motivated and results driven person to join our team in the Racine, WI location.The Manufacturing Engineering Technician willManage the design and construction of tooling, dies and fixtures forcurrent and new products. Assist inimplementation and assure production is maintained at expected levels and allequipment functions as planned.


A Typical Day in the Life of a Manufacturing Engineering Technician:

  • 1.Prepare detailed specifications formanufacturing dies, tools and fixtures.

    2.Investigate current processes and developbetter methods for quality and cost effectiveness.

    3.Review, critique and approve design layoutsand detail drawings with appropriate personnel.

    4.Evaluate, justify and procure tooling andmanufacturing processes; select suitable vendors; and assist in negotiatingterms.

    5.Estimate costs of dies, tools and fixtures inorder to develop and write ARs (Appropriation Requests).

    6.Troubleshoot and identify causes ofoperational problems. Initiate andimplement modifications or configuration changes associated with correctiveaction.

    7.Attend seminars and manufacturing technologymeetings, keeping abreast of technological advances for possible use inIn-Sink-Erator manufacturing and products.

    8.Identify and document items necessary forrepair and maintenance of dies, tools and fixtures.

    9.Work and communicate with other departmentsand vendors to accomplish required team assignments.

Additional Information

Office and manufacturing environment including lifting and bending.



You Must:

  • Must have completed a Tool & Die Apprenticeship (four or five yearprogram) and have a minimum 4 years experience as a Journeyman or 12 years ofTool & Die experience.
  • Experience should be in durable goods manufacturing involving moderateto high production volumes. Exposure tometal removal operations, punch press working mild steel, stainless steel andbrass is desirable.
  • Project management and team participation skills.
