Job Summary
The Supply Chain Program Manager I serves as a point of contact for Supply Chain activities for assigned programs. This role, in conjunction with other assigned SCPM's, is responsible for the Supply Chain deliverables identified in the NPI stage. This position includes situational analysis, strategy development, guidance and implementation for the functional disciplines of supply chain development, procurement, and logistics. These strategies should support the individual program's needs and be complementary to Jabil's overall Supply Chain Management goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for Supply Chain deliverables identified in the NPI stage



-Assist Business Units in identifying make/buy opportunities for custom mechanical components as well as value added assemblies.



- Coordinates Supply Chain activities for New product launch. Clearly and regularly communicate the program's needs to Commodity Management, Program Management, and the Business Unit to ensure that Jabil provides supply chain solutions that foster success
- Manages the periodic materials quotation activities for relative Commodities. Assist in executing the RFQ as appropriate for the program.
- Identifies and facilitates the qualification of new, alternate and/or localized suppliers for key applicable needs relative to program requirements
- Negotiates favorable pricing, payment terms, and advanced supply chain optimization programs such as supplier-owned inventory, Just-in-Time delivery schedules, reduced lead times and cancellation terms, return privileges, and EDI/SIS demand communication with key suppliers falling outside JABIL'S strategic supplier base



- Provide Program Manager or Business Unit with the visibility needed to execute the material acquisition plan including lead times, qualifications, material status, schedule impacts related to design documentation changes, and material ordering plans.



- Provide technical expertise and support to new product start-up teams by working with commodity management on the supplier selection process



- Interface with the appropriate functional groups that are required to support new customer transfer and launching new Jabil programs. This includes data validation, quote process, loading information into Jabils ERP system, purchasing, part approval, provide expectation to the design team and execute in cost reduction opportunities.



- Perform value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) on new product design and customer transfer programs in a cooperative effort with various engineering groups, the suppliers and quality assurance



- Evaluate tooling costs to determine the benefits of hard versus soft tooling in conjunction with Tooling /Design Engineering and business requirements.



- Manage material NRE budgets in line with the agreed upon terms for the project



- Manage early supplier involvement by critiquing designs and concepts of new products to assure supplier manufacturability and enhance quality.



- Identify opportunities and influence where standardization of designs including components and manufacturing processes exists.



- Liaise with Tooling Engineers to manage day to day issues inside supplier during tool/process qualifications and startup



- Act as first point of escalation when supply assurance comes under threat



- Mitigate risk where supplier selection necessitates use of a supplier whose audit/performance shows significant deficiencies. Install in-process inspection, process audits as required



- Performs situational analysis, strategy development, guidance and implementation for the functional disciplines of supply chain development, procurement, and logistics
- Performs Design For Manufacturability (DFM) reviews prior to design release for a variety of custom engineered applications.
- Performs cost estimating on a variety of custom engineered materials (sheet metal, stage/progressive die, machining, plastic injected molded) along with estimating applicable tool costs.
- In collaboration with mechanical design engineers, assists in determining the most cost-effective manufacturing process for a variety of custom mechanical applications.
- Assists with on-site supplier evaluations to determine supplier manufacturing capability to support various custom mechanical manufacturing processes.
- In collaboration with Commodity Management, assists with managing the effort to obtain full commodity and sourcing control of BOM and AVL in the design phase
- Through early design involvement and qualification of alternate suppliers on existing products, promotes the use of Jabil's Strategic Suppliers
- Executes Jabil's Early Supplier Involvement program
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Materials Logistics Management, or related discipline
- Six to Eight years related experience
- Experience in a design, product launch environment preferred]



-In-depth knowledge required of manufacturing processes/techniques involving sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, CNC machining, thermoforming, and die castings



- Solid understanding of electronics manufacturing and materials management is required
