CAREERS THAT CHANGE LIVES

Individual contributor that participates in detection, response, and remediation of Physical Security and Information Security incidents as part of the Medtronic Global Security Command Center. Monitors world events for potential impact to Medtronic's personnel, assets and integrity of the company. Responds to requests for global physical security incident assistance, coupled with continually monitoring security tools for anomalous and malicious behavior of systems on the Medtronic network, escalating as needed. Assists with maintenance and health of security related tools used by the Global Privacy and Security Office. Escalates incidents when necessary to the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) or Physical Security leadership.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • International security risks and travel security concerns for Medtronic personnel

  • Alarm monitoring and assessment, dispatch, escalation and communication

  • Emergency response and crisis incident management, including life safety

  • Impact analysis for crisis support

  • Liaison for corporate notification of critical incidents

  • Process customer inquiries, conduct access control requests, crisis response liaison

  • Business Intelligence-recognize incidents which may adversely impact personnel, assets and company integrity

  • Perform triage of IT Security Incidents, social media threat monitoring, phishing emails

  • Maintain a strong code of confidentiality based on the sensitivity of the work being performed

  • Solve routine problems following established policies and procedures

  • Report and track cases in centralized tools

  • Other duties as requested/assigned

    MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience within a security command center or helpdesk setting, specifically,

    o 6+ years with a high school diploma or GED, or

    o 2+ years with a bachelor's degree, or

    o 0+ years with an advanced degree

  • Experience with security technology including alarm and access control and badging systems, CCTV systems, communication technologies, and/or software programs

    NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Basic understanding of enterprise IT architecture(s)

  • Basic understanding of computer and network protocols and functionality

  • CompTIA Security + Certification

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree

  • Good organizational skills, with emphasis on multi-tasking and rapidly assessing and shifting priorities

  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor under stressful situations

  • Experience with security technology including alarm and access control and badging systems, CCTV systems, communication technologies, and/or software programs

  • Some experience with IT, Information security, cyber, privacy, security incident management, and/or digital forensics

  • Strong in interpersonal communication and demonstrate a collaborative work style

  • Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment

  • Innovative thinker; ability to think outside of the current norms and processes

  • Independent self-starter

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Solid writing and presentation skills
