The Bureau of Mental Health Treatment in the Office of Community Treatment Services works across Ohios community mental health treatment systems to implement and sustain programs and initiatives. The Mental Health Treatment Coordinator will be a resource to local ADAMHS (Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services) Boards, community providers, and individuals as well as internal staff. The candidate will also function as a liaison between partners to successfully implement identified projects.

We are accepting applications for a Mental Health Administrator 4 (Mental Health Treatment Coordinator), position number 20001883headquartered atthe James Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street, 36th floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

What you will do

  • Manage specialized state-wide projects (e.g., Multi-System Adult Project) and project management plans to guide the preparation and implementation of the respective initiatives;

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for initiatives; assess program impact and evaluate effectiveness.

  • Provide technical assistance, training and outreach efforts to behavioral health providers, mental health and recovery boards, consumer operated services, hospital systems, and other identified stakeholders as needed;

  • With stakeholder input, design guidelines and other explanatory materials and formulate strategies to improve planning and service delivery;

  • Monitor adherence to federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and rules; provide oversight and compliance with established eligibility requirements and coordinate feedback and action planning/outcome session;

  • Monitor grants allocations and spending and provide recommendations;

  • Perform administrative functions in conjunction with assigned duties including coordination, facilitation, & attendance at meetings; participate as a member of subcommittees as assigned.

For all programmatic positions, completion of undergraduate core program in one of following fields: mental health & developmental disabilities technology, social work or comparable field (e.g., child & family community services), special education, psychology or rehabilitation or 24 mos. exp. in development & implementation of treatment/ habilitation plans for persons who are mentally ill or developmentally disabled & working as part of interdisciplinary team to assess consumers'/residents' needs & abilities; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in state & federal regulations, standards & court orders governing care, custody, treatment, programming & environment of consumers/residents in mental health or developmental centers, or regulating drug treatment center operations or federally funded drug abuse services, or governing delivery of psychiatric services in adult correctional institution, or affecting community mental health programs (i.e., category of state & federal regulations, standards & court orders must be linked directly to type of facility & services being provided).

6 mos. trg. in supervisory principles/techniques or 6 mos. exp. scheduling, monitoring & evaluating personnel; 6 mos. trg. in budgeting or 6 mos. exp. determining budget needs & spending for operational unit or program of agency or firm; 6 mos. trg. in employee training & development or 6 mos. exp. writing training materials or conducting training; 3 mos. trg. in manpower planning or 3 mos. exp. scheduling personnel for adequate coverage & making staff projections.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in a social science. Independent clinical licensure preferred (e.g., LISW, LPCC)
