POSITION SUMMARY:

The team is responsible for the research, design, execution, and reporting of the marketing plans and programs that drive donor recruitment and retention, revenue, and reputation for Be The Match. Through careful collaboration with our internal business partners, determines optimal approaches to drive awareness and resulting in significantly growing the ethnic-diversity of our registry. In this new role you will create marketing plans, programs and campaigns that inspire ethnically diverse individuals to join our life-saving mission and provide hope to thousands of people in need of a bone marrow transplant. This includes developing and executing forward-thinking, culture-relevant digital campaigns and events that educate communities and motivate individuals to support patients with unique genetic types.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develops deep knowledge of key ethnically diverse target audiences and uses insights to guide strategy and decision-making.
  • Leads a cross-functional team of stakeholders and internal clients that help inform the development and delivery of multicultural marketing plans and programs.
  • Develops multicultural marketing plans and ensures they are aligned with enterprise objectives and strategies.
  • Converts partnership and influencer relationships to marketing tactics.
  • Manages budget of $2M or more in marketing expenses.
  • Leverages the best available CRM and marketing automation to increase marketing productivity and increase recruitment and retention.
  • Manages agency and vendor relationships.
  • Creates and implements retention strategies to ensure existing registry members remain engaged and committed.
  • Creates and implements referral programs.
  • Functions as the multicultural marketing SME in a wide-array of activities including meetings, strategic planning, and agency engagements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:

  • Advanced marketing principles, digital marketing, event marketing, marketing plan development, effective communications, multi-cultural marketing, education strategies to increase awareness and build trust, retention strategies, data analysis and reporting.

Ability to:

Demonstrate capabilities in the following areas:

  • Strategic planning - deep experience leading the development and execution of multicultural marketing plans and campaigns that drive awareness, business growth, and ultimately results within ethnically diverse segments.
  • Marketing insights - demonstrated success in using data to drive decisions about strategies and tactics, success in aligning marketing objectives with business objectives, and the ability to clearly articulate the ROI on marketing expenses and investments.
  • Account management - a reputation for building trust and establishing productive relationships with internal business partners and external agencies.
  • Project management - ability to prioritize projects and campaigns, manage business partner requests, and oversee the implementation of marketing plans and tactics to ensure all efforts are fulfilled on time and within budget.
  • Cross-functional leadership - demonstrated success leading cross-functional account teams and influencing internal resources without having direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and influencing cross-functional teams to be strategic and results-oriented in a tactical, consensus-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated skill in gathering input from subject matter experts and developing results-oriented marketing plans that can be used by web operations, communications, design, and writing, to implement key marketing strategies.
  • Approximately 15% travel.
  • Must exemplify our Be The Match Standards.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field.
  • Five years demonstrated success in the development and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns that drive awareness and conversions within ethnically diverse communities. Proven success creating integrated, multi-channel marketing programs. (Channels we leverage include web, email, social media, print, tradeshows and events, direct mail, video, and PR.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)

  • Multilingualism is highly-preferred.
