The receptionist is responsible for providing a warm, welcoming, and inviting atmosphere for students, staff, parents, and visitors. The receptionist will greet everyone entering the building and help direct them where they need to go. In addition, the receptionist is responsible for completing office administrative tasks.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.



  • Answer incoming phone calls in a pleasant, informed manner for the purpose of providing and creating a good image and first impression of the School

  • Greet all incoming students, families, and guests respectfully and professionally, determining their needs, checking scheduled appointments, and directing them to the proper person

  • Check voice mail messages left in schools general mailbox on routine basis and distribute accordingly those messages needing immediate attention

  • Assisting Office Manager with staff planning, professional development activities, and office supply orders

  • Create flyers/documents to support school activities

  • Occasionally pick up lunch for Leadership team

  • Assist in all aspects of maintaining a professional front office, including filing, scanning, and copying of sensitive information

  • Be knowledgeable and current on school activities, and events related to the school calendar

  • Require all visitors to sign-in and identify themselves; provide appropriate passes and badges following policy and protocol; provide school ID badges to staff and students

  • Sort and distribute incoming mail, documents, materials, and supplies

  • Receive and ship deliveries from outside supply and delivery services, ex. Fed-Ex, UPS; arrange for the distribution to the relevant department

  • Assist with all safety drills including fire, severe weather, and internal security drills

  • Responding to inquiries and assist with resolving routine problems from a variety of individuals (e.g. staff, parents, students, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or direction.

  • Assisting other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities

  • Providing general data entry support across many teams

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



Education/Experience:



  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) Certificate and two years office experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Formal computer training an advantage

  • Proficient in relevant computer applications such as MS Office

  • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures

  • Experience with Nevadas Student Information System; Infinite Campus

Basic Requirements:



  • Knowledgeable and experienced with computers and how they operate; basic computer skills needed in the learning environment;

  • Familiarity with electronic equipment, Internet applications, and common computer issues;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Demonstrated excellence in written communication;

  • Working knowledge of a variety of computer applications including PowerPoint and Excel;

  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with different client groups;

Certificates and Licenses: None required.



Computer Skills:



To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; Internet software, database software, recording and reporting grades electronically.



Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • This is an office-based position. We anticipate a typical school office setting including conversation, light foot traffic, computers, etc. Must live inNevada.
