Tetra Tech is seeking a Physical Security Specialist for their Chicago, IL office. The selected candidate will use knowledge and experience to complete threat and risk assessments, evaluate physical and electronic security systems to deter, detect, delay, and respond to potential threats as well as security policies and procedures. Conduct analysis of third-party security systems to protect high value assets in compliance. Using the results of the finding, the applicant will prepare recommendations to improve the security posture and reduce risk. Will interface with clients in an unsupervised environment and be able to use standard and established risk assessment methodologies. The position requires the candidate to be able to prepare organized and readable reports, and provide presentations to clients. Travel, work in client offices, oral presentations, and written report preparation will be required. Candidate will manage project schedules and budgets and will interface directly with clients. The position requires 10 to 25% travel both local and nationally. This position requires U.S. citizenship.

Applicant should have 5 to 15 years of experience in assessing and designing physical and electronic security systems as well as security policies and procedures to safeguard critical infrastructure and other high-value assets as well as response and other policies and procedures to mitigate malevolent acts. Knowledge of various security standards such as crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED); various Federal guidance's issued by EPA, DoD, DOS, FEMA, CDC, etc. and regulatory requirements (e.g. Chemical Security Anti-Terrorism Standard (CFATS) and Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) . 1-5 years of experience in emergency management or public safety. Previous consulting or emergency/disaster response experience is desirable. Must have the ability to work in an unsupervised environment.

Must be highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment. Must be able to be a self-starter and solutions-orientated worker. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to interface at all management levels are required. The successful candidate must be computer literate and have working-knowledge with basic office software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Strong analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills with a consultative approach to supporting client projects. B.S. degree in Engineering (or other technical field) with Physical Security focus or specialized DoD or Law enforcement training and anti-terrorism/force protection. Certification, from a recognized professional organization, such as the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) as a "Certified Protection Professional (CPP)" or "Physical Security Professional" (PSP) is preferred. A current DoD Security clearance at the SECRET Level is desired. The ability to obtain a DoD Security clearance at the SECRET Level is required. Candidate must also meet physical demands of on site field work such as climbing. Work will generally be conducted in an office location with occasional travel to site locations. Travel is required and varies based on project requirements; may include weekend travel and work.
