Wintrust Commercial Banking is looking for a dynamic Portfolio Manager primary role and responsibilities include all aspects of portfolio management of Commercial Banking portfolio loans, along with assistance in the development of new relationships and/or expansion of existing relationships. The existing loan portfolio consists of all types of commercial loans including lines of credit, term notes, and commercial mortgages. The typical loan size is less than $500,000 to $20 million.

The Employee is responsible for supporting the credit function, risk administration function and from time to time the sales function. Responsibilities include gathering, analyzing and testing all business and personal financial data collected for the purpose of monitoring the loan portfolio, issuing, extending, amending, reviewing, monitoring and testing a commercial credit facility. The Employee is expected to liaise between all parties to ensure timely and efficient tracking and analysis that meets the expectations of the Borrowers, Lenders, and Administration Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the umbrella of portfolio management and underwriting of the risk administration processes for the Business Banking group, the Employee is specifically responsible for:

  • Assist in the collection, spreading and maintaining of financial statements
  • Testing and monitoring financial covenants consistent with loan requirements
  • Assist in preparation of portfolio reviews, which include a focus on timely and accurate risk ratings
  • Supporting due diligence and loan documentation efforts
  • Participating in the opportunity assessment and prospecting process
  • Underwriting credit requests
  • Preparing and reviewing Credit Approval Presentations
  • Understanding and adhering to Credit/Bank policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Lending experience required
  • 3 -10 years in financial services industry experience, with a working knowledge of wealth services/banking environment, products and all supporting processes and technology
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills. Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills. Proven ability to manage tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills used within a team environment and in client interaction with emphasis on relationship building
  • Ability to proactively manage and prioritize work flow
  • Bachelor's degree with a business, finance or accounting major
  • Formal Bank credit training is preferred, with a strong understanding of general credit and risk principles, mitigates, and banking policies/procedures
