Responsible for the procurement and management of assigned commodities in support of both production and non-production operations. This could include:
  • Factory Supplies (Hazardous Materials, Gages, calibration services, packaging, office furniture, etc)
  • Contract development and management of Consulting and Engineering Services, Temporary Labor (On-Site Managed Services), Recruiting Agencies,
  • Construction and Facilities / Maintenance support (using various contract types, dealing with general contractors and sub-contractors).
  • Capital Equipment and Machine tool negotiations and purchases
  • Information Technology support (Computer Hardware/ Software purchases, Leases, Licensing Agreements)
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers that range from small businesses to global organizations.
Provide maximum level of support to both internal and external customers.
Implement Knowledge of purchasing principles.
Support Solar\u0027s Procure to Pay solution deployment (COUPA).
Candidates may be responsible for projects in multiple Solar Turbines locations.

- BS Degree in Business or Engineering
-Construction background
- Facilities and Maintenance support of a major manufacturing complex
- Experience in managing complex and long-term contractual agreements with mandatory Cost Savings and Avoidances;
- Work independently on complex assignments and anticipate problems and provide solutions in a professional, logical and expedited manner;
- Interface with external suppliers as well as internal clients in the areas of Manufacturing, Production Test, Engineering, Project Management, Packaging Operations, Finance, Accounts Payable, Traffic, Shipping and Receiving;
- COUPA Procure to Pay (P2P) system knowledge;
- CPM Certification and knowledge of 6 Sigma methodology desired.
- Sound analytical skills, problem solving with the ability to coach others on these skills
- Solid communication skills, high initiative, assertiveness and organizational skills
