Were looking for a Product Manager to join our Aviation Services team to help lead the development of exciting new products and services within our FltPlan.com and flyGarmin.com web and mobile applications. Were looking for an aviation professional with experience in coordinating the development of software-as-a-service (SAAS) solutions that our end users will use and purchase. Desirable candidates will have aviation-related experience in some or all of the following:

  • Safety Management System (SMS)

  • Aircraft Scheduling

  • Charter Operations (Part 91 and 135)

  • Dispatcher or Operations Control

  • Overflight Permits and International Handling

  • Pre-Departure Clearances (PDCs)

  • Flight Following

  • E-APIS

  • Fuel Management

  • Fleet Management

  • Runway Analysis and Aircraft Takeoff and Landing Performance
Do you have a passion for providing reliable, effective and safety-enhancing aviation services to aviators around the world? Send us your resume! In this role, you'll be responsible for these essential functions:

  • Develop criteria for new software products including requirements, features, product ecosystem strategy and product lifecycle strategy

  • Develop thorough market, customer and competitive analysis as inputs to the products and services design process

  • Work closely with Engineering, Sales and Marketing to develop product roadmaps that satisfy the objectives of the segment business plan

  • Collaborate with product marketing to effectively introduce software products, coordinate advertising, participate in trade shows and other key activities during the life cycle of the products

  • Attend industry tradeshows, customer meetings and other events as required

Qualified candidates will possess the educational, experience and skills requirements noted below:

  • Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university

  • Minimum of five years experience in product management, and/or product development performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description

  • Must demonstrate a strong passion for Garmin, including its mission, products, values and success

  • Exemplary judgment regarding product usability, customer expectations, and creative product tradeoffs

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to present data and product recommendations to engineering and marketing/sales management

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels of the organization

  • Strong leadership and team building skills

  • Excellent proficiency using MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project)

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail

  • Ability to travel up to 20%
Desirable Qualifications:

  • Pilots or candidates with aviation experience are strongly preferred!
