Product Portfolio Manager

Northern Trust's Front Office Solutions is an integrated digital and service platform that enables investment offices to view data across their whole portfolio, with timely, accurate and consolidated views of both public and private market data. Designed for the modern asset owner with multi-asset class portfolios, Front Office Solutions serves foundations, endowments, pension funds, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and other complex organizations.

As we continue to drive a lean ecosystem to bring value across every part of our delivery model, we are seeking a Product Portfolio Manager. This is to allow us to rapidly identify customer needs and desires, and develop incrementally. This role will build and manage this process across multiple product portfolios so as to deliver efficiently and effectively. The net effect is a proactive alignment of strategy and resources.

The candidate for this role would have a strong understanding of agile and work-in-progress models, ability to connect the dots across many competing needs, familiarity with the institutional clients that we serve, and seek to measure and increase our business outcomes of performance, value, and alignment.

Responsibilities

Demand Management

Establish a network and act as a key conduit for all product requests across servicing and sales teams.

Organize client research sessions and ensure client feedback is incorporated into decisions.

Support rapid decision making by evaluating the work with Product Managers in scoping and prioritizing.

Provide transparency to decisions and trade-offs.

Portfolio Management

Oversee the roadmap for each product portfolio, confirming it is aligned to strategic and client priorities, and continually evolving.

Work with Product Managers to define criteria in valuing their objectives and measuring the outcomes.

Continually assess and re-align active programs against defined objectives.

Program and Results Management

Implement controls to manage scope, financials, progress, risk/issues, and quality of delivery.

Design and maintain key performance indicators.

Track and report actual results in comparison to the business case.

Provide clarity and approach on statuses and highlight what is relevant and important.

Work with Product Managers to socialize product statuses, risk/issue, and future planning to varying stakeholders with consistent reporting and messaging.

Standardize a robust product roll-out for internal and external users, including documentation and training materials.

Additionally, will coordinate all risk, audit, and business continuity requests.

Knowledge / Experience

This individual will display a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with technology and the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness, reporting, and productivity.

Knowledge of business strategy development to provide short- and long-term planning.

Prior experience with multi-asset class portfolio management software.

Ability to carry out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult.

Establishing, developing and maintaining working relationships with leadership team and partners, locally and globally.

Analytical and organizational skills

Negotiation and leadership skills

Ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities and workflows.







Qualifications

Experience in an agile organization, fintech experience is a plus.

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.

Proven track record of exceptional ambition, drive, and proven results.

Exceptional verbal and written skills.

Working knowledge of product management tools such as Aha.io
