Responsible for managing multiple new or ongoing key customer contracts which represent a higher level or complexity/technical requirements and/or represent substantial current/future revenue. Leads cross functional teams to complete projects and provide deliverables to contractual dates while maintaining or exceeding budgeted financial performance. Identifies necessary materials and resources, develops Statement of Work, project schedules and partners with other managers and functional personnel to ensure success of assigned programs. May also be responsible for other, less complex programs or new product introductions which have the potential for expanding IIVIAD business.

Acts as the primary customer interface for all assigned program issues and support program efforts which include working with cross functional disciplines to resolve key suppliers/vendors issues. Leads the development and booking activities for potential follow-on or new contracts with assigned customers. May also be responsible for identifying, developing contacts, and booking new business within current markets.

Job scope entails the following responsibilities:

  • Budget authority / Project value: Between $10k and $40M
  • Project teams: multiple with > 25 persons / team
  • Indirect Reports: Engineering, Operations, Management
  • Principle interfaces with:
    • Engineering, Operations, Contracts, Finance, Management, Quality, Business Development
    • External Customers, US DoD services

  • BS degree in technical or business discipline (technical preferred)

Work Experience:
  • 5 - 10 Years prior experience in managing all aspects of assigned programs, engineering, production control or similar discipoine with a minimum of 3 - 5 years of direct program management experience
  • Aerospace experience highly preferred
  • Prior Military experience highly preferred

Skills / Knowledge:

  • Strong communication skills and business acumen. Must be able to judge situations regarding the larger business picture as well as the immediate need. Must be able to structure internal and especially external communication accordingly.
  • Strong planning and leadership ability to coordinate and get tasks accomplished in through non direct reports. Ability, flexibility, versatility and comfort level for working with multiple individuals and personalities.
  • Ability to persuade and motivate others. Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of production and financial reporting/systems regarding program/project management (budgeting, EAC's, etc.).
  • Advance skills using Microsoft Projects and other software packages tools required to effectively communicate with customers, vendors and internal communication/reporting.
  • Willing to travel.
  • Optical, Electro-Mechanical, and/or Controls experience highly preferred
