Arcadis is seeking an experienced Civil or Geotechnical Engineer to join the Environment Business Line in Seattle, WA. This position will support projects across the United States.

In this role, you will focus on geotechnical engineering for environmental projects, such as sediment remediation, waterfront structures, mining, oil & gas, and in situ solidification and stabilization (ISS). Work will entail a mixture of site investigation, feasibility study, design, analysis, and construction quality assurance. In addition, you will serve as an intermediary between senior level staff and junior staff.

Responsibilities and abilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform engineering analyses and calculations with emphasis on geotechnical analyses (e.g. slope stability, shoring, soil bearing, soil settlement, etc.)
  • Apply engineering principles to develop effective solutions
  • Develop work plans and direct field activities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering work products.
  • Prepare reports, specifications, plans, and construction schedules
  • Assist in development of proposals and budgets
  • Travel is required (approximately 20%)
Ideal candidate will have experience with:
  • Slope stability analysis
  • Foundation bearing capacity analysis
  • Rock Mechanics
  • Shoring design
  • Bulkhead design
  • In-Situ Soil Stabilization
  • Civil design and earthwork

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • 5 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10 years of professional experience
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Experience with the following computer software: AutoCad Civil 3D, EZ-FRISK, FLAC, Geostudio (i.e. Slope/W, Seep/W), GROUP, LPILE, Pile Buck, PLAXIS, Shoring Suite, and Rockworks.
