Do you possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interface between marketing, sales, and product management teams? If so, Guardian is seeking a Proposal and Presentations Content Marketing Manager who can use writing, marketing, targeting, segmentation, and positioning skills to drive the development of digital content to use for competitive advantage in our customer proposals, and pre-sales presentations.

You are:
A self-directed, experienced content marketing proposal writer who thrives in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, you bring the latest digital marketing approaches to text and visuals and you're technically proficient with content database libraries and document automation software, such as Qvidian. A business-savvy professional, ideally familiar with the employee group benefits insurance industry, you understand how important marketing and sales alignment is to business growth. Comfortable with subject matter experts, executives, and peers, you're able to collaborate across departments to transform conceptual thinking into executable insights and useful sales enablement tools. You have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • MBA preferred
  • Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) accreditation desirable
  • Proven content marketing strategist with the ability to synthesize complex business models into useful stories relevant to customer pain points that can drive sales
  • 5 years of strategic proposal development, preferably in employee group benefits, or finance/insurance industry
  • Experience with document automation software such as Qvidian, ProposalTech, or IBX
  • Experience in B2B marketing or marketing in a complex selling channel
  • Experience supporting a sales organization
  • Expertise with Word and PowerPoint formatting
  • Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite (minimal ability to work with file formats is needed, proficiency a plus but not required)

You will:
  • Bring original thinking in identifying new opportunities to create best in class proposal content; create proposal strategy that engages and influences brokers and employers at a key point of the decision process
  • Be a strong storyteller...Write content records that convey key messages and prove technical context for relevancy for brokers and employers
  • Identify opportunities for visual content and assign illustrations, diagrams, and process flows to designers for professional execution to be included in the database
  • Understand how database content records are compiled into a cohesive document by the proposal team who use the database
  • Serve as the strategic content owner and writer for Group Benefits proposal content records
  • Work with Marketing, Sales, Proposal, Product, and Executive teams for planning, positioning, consistency, etc.
  • Develop, execute, and manage senior level audit review, and general updates of all content positioning
  • Serve as database content expert for proposal team
  • Provide guidance and insight to Sales and respond quickly to incoming sales requests

  • New York or New Jersey ideally, with work from home flexibility
  • Occasional travel to Guardian locations for team or business partner meetings
