Schaeffler, a global automotive & industrial supplier, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support operations in our Stratford, ON aerospace manufacturing facility.
  • The goal of this position is to plant quality assurance activities including new product introduction/ advanced product quality planning overall manufacturing quality assurance

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Attend meetings of new and/or changed products, review and develop the appropriate control plans using the Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and AIAG checklist to ensure completeness
  • Assist in the preparation of PPAP submission requirements
  • Train operators in Quality System guidelines
  • Customer Complaint Management including leading 8-D Problem Solving Team
  • Supplier Quality SQN's, Audits, and Follow Ups
  • Assist in Document Control and Records Management
  • Provide direction on Inspection Plans to include Receiving, In-Process, and Final
  • Assist on any special projects, samples, and manufacturing problems which are quality related

Qualified candidates will have:

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or related discipline
  • Knowledgeable in problem solving sciences and continuous improvement processes
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and basic PC skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to travel as needed

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing
  • Six Sigma blackbelt or Shanin training
  • ASNT NDT Level II certification for MPI, FPI, ECT and Nital Etch
  • Understanding of the AIAG - APQP/PPAP process
  • Understanding of the AS9100C standard
  • Understanding of the Nacap and special processing
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Ability to develop and implement production processes and quality improvement projects
  • Exhibits good judgment to resolve or escalate problems or issues
  • Excellent team player with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lead, mentor and coach within and outside the department
  • Ability to work independently and be an effective contributor in a diversified team
  • Ability to work as a virtual team member
  • Ability to work in multi-national teams
  • Skills to train operators to understand and operate process inspection and test equipment
