Job Description

Semiconductor Manufacturing Technician

Job Summary:

Seeking a motivated, detail oriented person, with very good manual dexterity, computer skills, and experience in clean room operations. The primary job is supporting cooled FPA manufacturing. The job functions include FTIR measurement of InSb FPAs and data entry onto traveler and in WIP tracking software. Cross training into etch and demount may also be in the future. Chemical mixing and understanding of safe chemical handling and ESD methods is required. Good manual dexterity is required for all aspects of FPA handling. Familiarity with microscope inspection is also required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • FPA (focal plane array) FTIR measurements of critical detector thicknesses, entering of data for WIP tracking , and data entry onto traveler.
  • Cross-train in etch and demount as time permits
  • Familiarity with operation of metrology equipment requiring analysis of data and extensive physical time on a computer.
  • Maintain detailed records such as travelers, SPC charts & data entry into X Factory
  • Maintain high-level of cleanliness in lab
  • Understand clean room protocol and familiarity with handling chemicals.
  • Schedule and coordinate WIP for efficient movement of wafers or FPAs
  • Operate semiconductor equipment
  • Troubleshoot process problems, define solutions, and execute experiments to improve yields & cycle time while decreasing costs.

  • Attention to detail is required to ensure proper documentation and maintenance of travelers and when operating
  • semiconductor processing equipment.
  • Communication Skills-Oral, Listening & Written required ensuring that procedures and methods are easy to understand and interpret. Listens attentively without interrupting and/or being distracted by other things
  • Collaboration and Teamwork required to maintain open group communication and relationships, to refine processes and implement process improvement.
  • Coping skills required to be able to stay focused, calm and cool with multiple demands and deadlines from superiors, subordinates and peers while maintaining focus on demanding deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Flexibility is required having the ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements, special assignments and workload reprioritization.
  • Initiative required displaying strong personal initiative and motivation to achieve desired performance results.
  • Strong Organizational and Planning Skills are required to facilitate lab maintenance and resources

Knowledge & Experience in the following required:
  • Basic computer knowledge - Word and Excel desired
  • Wafer & IC handling
  • Lapping
  • Wet and Dry Etching
  • Microscope inspections
  • Z scope measurements
  • Operation of metrology tools like FTIR
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination
  • Chemical handling procedures
  • clean-room protocol
  • lab safety
  • Must be a US Citizen or have Permanent Resident Status

Education and Experience:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
