We are seeking aSenior Accountant at our Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta, GA to support ourLegal Entity team.




The Senior Accountant position will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties, primarily for foreign holding and financing companies. This role creates value through excellence in accounting, internal financial controls and business partnering. This role will be in Corporate Accounting, with visibility to Executive Management, Tax, Legal, Treasury and Koch Industries. The successful candidate must be self-directed, able to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines. Strong presentation skills and a desire to acquire new proficiencies are keys to this position.





A Day In The Life Typically Includes:




Primary Responsibilities (70-80% of workload):

  • Prepare annual statutory financial statements and coordinate related audits. Responsibilities include converting US GAAP ledgers into local GAAP (ex: Luxembourg GAAP, Dutch GAAP, IFRS, etc.), drafting all statements with notes, management reports and strategic reports. Working closely with business groups and external auditors to ensure successful completion of audits.

  • Review and record restructure transactions, working with legal and tax teams to determine legal entity accounting impacts of such transactions

  • Ad Hoc Reporting as needed by Executive Management, Tax, or Koch Industries

  • Train entry-level staff, as needed

Secondary Responsibilities (20-30% of workload):


  • Monthly close duties journal entries, currency re-measurement and translation, balance sheet reconciliations

  • Prepare quarterly and annual statistical government reporting

  • Prepare support for tax returns U.S. income tax, Foreign income tax, and VAT



Requirements and Preferred Qualificationsto be Successful in this role:

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting

  • Minimum 3.0GPA overall andin Accounting coursework

  • At leastTHREE years of experience in an accounting or financial analysis role


  • Strong understanding of a Financial Statements and General Ledger


  • Conceptual understanding of the design and the purpose of internal financial controls


  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word document creation, formatting and editing etc., Excel spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation etc., and Access query)


Knowledge Skills Abilities:


  • Financial acumen to be utilized toward account analysis

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Proactive/self-driven work habits

  • Ability to shift between competing priorities

  • Organizational skills and strong sense of urgency

  • Willing to drive change, improve processes and solve problems


  • Basic self-awareness and an understanding of how personal behavior impacts others



Preferred Qualifications :


  • Experience in Public Accounting, Large Company Corporate Accounting, or Manufacturing Environment

  • Experience with general ledger journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations


  • Experience in creating full sets of financial statements, including notes and accompanying reports


  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP


  • Experience with Hyperion and Blackline (or other balance sheet reconciliation software)
